No, it makes you a homophobe. As you have been attending psyche 101 you would know that finding something offensive for no reason is phobic. You do not object to same sex sex, you object to male same sex sex. Perhaps you should re-avaluate your test scores?

Maybe he's ready to come out of the closet?

That's not his argument, he doesn't object because of the immorality but because he finds seeing gay people offensive. Did you read his post at all?

so you missed the english joke from the guy that finds such things humourous? i am ashamed of you. your englishness is hereby revoked by order of the king.

if i find guys humping each other offensive, then i find guys humping each other offensive. it's just disgusting in a visual sense, and deranged on many levels, whereas girls humping each other is a visual delight, and serves a clear purpose in terms of entertainment. doesn't mean i'm afraid of guys humping, just means i think it's ugly as hell.

did you read my post at all?

Lets be honest here... the more proper coinage of the word should be **-DISGUSTUS.

It's really more about being disgusted by a man prancing about as a girl.... rather than being fearful of the show.

I don't think you get the point of homosexuality at all Danno - do you really think that one half of a homosexual couple is simply pretending to be a girl while the other half suspends belief that the person is a man simply because he might sport a dress? Even while, most homosexuals don't dress in women's clothing?

Clearly you are feeling emasculated, and you can't have that, you need to drive home the point that you really are a hot blooded alpha male. There is no other reason to flaunt the fact that you are daily surrounded by women hot women, women who apparantly find you attractive. It's completely meaningless in this context. It doesn't make your argument more plausible, it just means you believe that the way to validate your opinion is to display your 'trophies'. How demeaning to your wife to use her in this way. I sincerely hope she means more to you than as some cheap symbol of your achievements. A women has a value far beyond her physical attributes, or she certainly should have.

Obviously the college you attend doesn't demand a lot if you are an example of 'A' student. You are displaying all the characteristics of homophobia, and yet you insist that you are simply 'disgusted' by the fact that homosexuals 'act like girls' but aren't hot like lesbians.

That's hilarious

"I am married to a hot chick"

I bet this whole thread was pretext to The Shooter dropping that into the conversation.

He opposes male on male sex because it is aesthetically displeasing... This is supposed to be a convincing argument!?

I wonder what it is that makes The Shooter believe that male buggery is a sight he's likely to encounter in his day to day life. After all, who goes around trying to visualize everyone they see having sex?

Perhaps someone needs to lay off the Viagra.

From Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Pronunciation: \ˌhō-mə-ˈfō-bē-ə\Function: noun Date: 1969 : irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals

........

Psychologist George Weinberg invented the word "homophobia" in his book "Society and the Healthy Individual," published in 1972 or 1975 (sources differ). 5 He defined it as "the dread of being in close quarters with homosexuals." He offered a fuller definition:

"a phobia about homosexuals….It was a fear of homosexuals which seemed to be associated with a fear of contagion, a fear of reducing the things one fought for—home and family. It was a religious fear and it had led to great brutality as fear always does."
6,7

The term evolved to mean a general "fear of homosexuals or of homosexual behavior." But the English language is in a continuous state of flux. Words develop different meanings as people develop new consensuses on their definition. This is why older translations of the Bible (e.g. the King James Bible of 1611 CE) are difficult for many people to read.

The adjective form of homophobia is "homophobic;" the noun form is "homophobe."

topruled.gif

The many meanings of "Homophobia" and similar terms:

Most people agree that the following four terms have dual meanings -- one relating to feelings and another relating to action:

topbul1d.gifRacism means hatred of, or discrimination against, persons of a specific race, usually a minority.

topbul1d.gifSexism means hatred of or discrimination against persons of a specific gender, usually female or intersexual, but on rare intervals, against males.

topbul1d.gifXenophobia means hatred of or discrimination against persons of another nationality, usually a minority.

topbul1d.gifReligism is a non-existent word that we would like to see added to the English language. It would mean "hatred of, or discrimination against, persons of a specific religion affiliation, usually a minority."

Sometimes these words are used to refer to a feeling. A person who believes that women are intrinsically inferior to men (or vice versa) is sometimes referred to as sexist -- a person who exhibits sexism. Other times, the same word is used to refer to an action: a person who actively discriminates against women (or men) as a group. One can only infer which definition is in use within a given speech or report from the context in which the word is used. Sometimes, this is not easy to do.

The word "homophobia" is is even more confusing. This single word is hopelessly inadequate to cover the full range of people's negative beliefs and actions about individuals of minority sexual orientations and sexual behaviors.

You do realize how extremely rare this is, right?

You see a lot of the blatant in your face stuff during parades/activist marches, but it's pretty rare overall.

1/5 of the population is 'gay.' That's something to thnk about.

there is a big difference between unreasonable fear of an activity, and repulsion from an activity. i find male/male displays of affection offensive. strangely, i do not find female/female displays offensive, provided that the chix are hot, and go both ways. i guess that makes me a lesbian, huh?

No, it makes you a homophobe.
