Just had my part 1 of my medical exam, and the doctor told me I need 2 shots for one specific vaccine, the next one to be done after a month.

Will I have to wait for another month to get the 2nd shot before they mark the I-693 requirement as complete? Or will the civil surgeons still mark it as "complete" then I can just do my 2nd shot in the future?

Just curious. Thanks!

you won't have to wait. he isn't allowed to make you wait. he will sign off on it. make sure you get the 2nd shot though for ROC or you'll need to do the whole 2 shots again as they MUST be taken as specific intervals

Sweet - thanks, I would say it's kind of odd if they don't sign off on it if I take the first set anyway.

Exactly.

If it makes you feel better: http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/...vaccination.pdf top of page 9 (starts bottom of page 8):

"If administration of the single dose of a vaccine at the time of the medical

examination does not complete the series for that vaccine, the “Insufficient time

interval” waiver box must be checked to indicate that additional doses will be needed

to complete the series for that vaccine."

and also part way down page 9:

"Completion of a vaccine series is not required to conclude the medical examination,

because such a requirement would require multiple visits to a

panel physician and could lead to unnecessary delay in the immigration process."
