Has this ever happened to anyone?

I sent in my N400 in January and received a letter for interview in the beginning of April last week. But only one day later, I received an letter from USCIS telling me that my interview has been cancelled due to unforseenable circumstances and that I will be informed of a new interview appointment.

What could be unforseenable circumstances for USCIS? BTW, my case should be handeled by the Boston office.

If this has happened to you, how long do you have to wait till the next appointment letter? And was the interview date delayed as well?

Things like this happen. You should get a re-schedule letter in about 10 days.

I actually went to my ceremony on Jan, 2009 and I was at the entire ceremony. When they started to give the Nat. Certificates, They couldn't find mine!

I went home with out a certificate!!!!

I received a letter just like yours and about 10 days latter I received my "new" ceremony date. I had to take the whole ceremony again and finally I become a U.S Citizen!

So just relax in 10-15 days you should received your new interview date!

I've heard of weather related issues could cause such things to happen. If they close for a day, then everything gets disrupted - but I could be wrong...

Staff scheduling changes is another possibility. The person who was scheduled to do your interview isn't going to be available that day so they have to reschedule all of his/her interviews - or the facility itself has something else booked that day and they are rescheduling everyone with an interview that day. You should hear something shortly about your new interview date. Good luck.

Cle_w2000-Sorry to hear about your interview being rescheduled. Perhaps it has something to do with the snowstorms recently? Neverheless, hope you get rescheduled soon. And if you don't hear back from the USCIS soon (oh I would give it a few weeks or so), by all means, you have every right to contact them to reschedule you an interview date, as soon as possible. Good luck with your interview and oath after that.

I have heard of things like this before from other persons so don't worry about a thing, they will reschedule your interview very soon.. I don't know what unforeseeable circumstances might be but it can mean something as simple as..they scheduled by mistake too many people that day at a certain hour.

Good luck to get that letter asap

Touched again on March 6, and March 9th. Still no rescheduling.

Thanks guys for the information. So far I have not received any rescheduling yet.

However, I did notice that there has been a lot of touches on my case lately. It was touched on Feb 27, March 2 and march 5th.
