Photocopy of the beneficiary's passport biographic data page.

Original/certified copy of beneficiary’s birth certificate.

Original/certified copy of beneficiary’s and petitioner’s marriage certificate.

Original police certificates of the beneficiary.

Original/certified copy of military record, if applicable.

Original/certified copy of divorce decree, death certificate, etc. of previous marriage, if applicable.

Make 2 extra copies of this package. Send 1 copy to the beneficiary

Will I need to have all the above info & submit it on my husband behalf here in US or my hubby with submit it in India?

I submitted all the information for the Ds-230 from Canada. But others have had their SO send them the necessary information and then sent the packet from the US

Either one is fine, as long as all the documents make it there, from where you send it does not matter

As soon as my husband's petition was approved by the USCIS and sent to the NVC I told him to send me all the necessary documents so that I could have them ready whenever they asked for them. That's the great advantage of reading everything before it happens so you're ready. If you choose to be the Choice of Agent you can have your wife send you everything, including forms DS-3032 and DS-230 so you can have them ready for when the NVC asks for them. It saves a lot of time.

It depends on your choice. After your petition is approved, they will assign you a case number. After you give them your and your husband's email address, they will send you both a package with DS-3032 form, which basically asks to choose who will be preparing and submitting DS-230 packet. It can be either You, Your Husband, or an Attorney.

For me, I chose my wife to send the DS-230 packet from India. My personal opinion is that if your husband is good at paperwork, let him gather the documents and send it from there.

Reason:

He will need to sign the DS-230 form.

His original Birth Certificate is needed.

Original Police Certificates are needed, which he will have to obtain from there.

Original Marriage Certificate will be needed.

There is nothing needed from you.

Unless you have all the orignals needed, I say you should let your husband send the DS-230. He can use DHL Express. It's fast.

But this is just me, do whichever is best for you both.
