Traveling w/o I-551 Stamp

My British husband (currently has the conditional two year green card) plans to visit the UK this summer. Our I-130 was approved without an interview so his passport was never stamped with the I-551 stamp. Will this cause problems when returning to the US? Searching other posts here it appears that people approved with interviews don't always get stamped so I'm assuming this isn't a problem but I'm overly cautious.

Is no I-551 a concern?

20/03/2008 - Interview @ 10am - APPROVED

28/03/2008 - Visa in hand

14/04/2008 - POE Detroit (DTW)

22/05/2008 - Married

AOS

06/06/2008 - AOS & EAD filed

13/06/2008 - NOA1 letter received

14/07/2008 - Biometrics appointment

14/08/2008 - EAD production ordered

23/08/2008 - EAD card received

14/01/2009 - Green card producation ordered (No interview required)

22/01/2009 - Green card recieved

Absolutely right. The I-551 stamp in the passport is for temporary purposes only while waiting for the physical green card to arrive. Since he has the physical green card he has no need for the I-551 passport stamp. He's good to travel.

no stamp = not an issue
