Does taking Biometrics early (Walk-In) really speed up the process?

Has anyone ever compared the AOS or EAD processing time of people that did early walk-in biometrics vs. the ones that waited for their appointment? I wonder if the early walk-in really creates any tangible reduction in processing time.

I'm probably wrong, but I think they require the NOA with your appointment date. Moreover, I believe they assign dates as a matter of "load balancing" so they're not overwhelmed one day and twiddling thumbs on the next. I'd recommend following the process as instructed.

Not sure...I wish I could have done an early walk-in as my biometrics has been scheduled so far out. Hubby said to just follow protocol in case things go awry. Also, I don't think my ASC office allows for walk-ins.

maybe. I've done the Biometrics after 1 month after applying for AOS and I got the green card yesterday.(it went faster because we didn't had an interview)

It made things go faster in our case. EAD waits on biometrics being completed.

Our biometrics was scheduled for Feb 1, Nik did it on Jan 25, and the EAD arrived on Feb 1, so sped things up by a week.

Guess it's not much since he hasn't been able to find someone to hire him yet (despite several applications!)

I agree that EAD waits on biometrics. I don't think it would hurt to try and do a walk in early. When we got there the place was empty, literally empty. In 20 mins we were done and out.

Some ACS have walk-ins, I would think it will speed up only EAD and AP. Once they get your biometrics they issue the documents, I am not sure about the AOS but I will assume as biometrics come in, they update your file.

Yeah, it speeds up only EAD and AP. After my transfer to CSC, I've had touches only on my AOS, but none on my EAD or AP as I still have a couple of days until my biometrics.

Perfect I completed my Biometrics appointment via walk-in today. Hopefully EAD and AP will be in the mail soon!
