I am just wondering what the deal is with co-sponsorship on the I-864. I just got married and my wife came here on a K-1 visa. My parents draw the bigger income than I do so I wanted them to co-sponsor. Who fills out what? Does my father fill out the I-864 and I the I-864A? I'm just not sure what to do. Also, is there anywhere I can find a guide on filling out the I-864?

Also on the I-485 I'm not sure what exactly to put for "Current USCIS status". The last thing that happened is she came through the POE and got her I-94. But the last involvement with the USCIS directly was the NOA2. On the same section it asks what that status expires on is as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks! :)

Two things that will help you:

Example I-485

Example I-864

And maybe this, but that would be three things. :)

You (the US Spouse) will be the sponsor (no matter what) and will submit an I-864 (and all the stuff that goes with it). Your parents (who I am presuming you all live with) may do an I-864 as well. The parent(s) would need to include (in addition to the necessary supporting evidence) proof of citizenship or LPR status (like a birth certificate or passport etc) and would need to calculate their household size to include all their dependents plus one foreign beneficiary.

In short - you fill one out and they do too.

I just noticed that the I-864A is for a household member like if my parents are to joint sponsor since they are a part of the household. Only problem is, I'll be moving sometime during this whole process. Would it be better just to file 2 I-864's rather than one I-864 and an I-864A?

You need to have your parents fill out an I-864A. They only fill out an I-864 if you are not living with them, and yes your household size is 4 :)

That certainly gives me a good idea but here's the problem: If I were to file right now, yes I am living with them. But a few months from now? I may be moved out by then. How does that work if you file the 864A living with your parents and in the middle of the process move out?

You, the US citizen spouse have a household count of 2 (you and your spouse).

ONE of your parents completes an I-864A and supplies all needed information. If your income and that parent's income is not enough, then the other parent's income can be used as well.

For the I-864 you would add the appropriate number of parents (1 or 2) on line 21g.

Household size will likely be 3.

Moving out of the house in the future will not have any effect.
