Man, I have to say, I am really appreciating Family Day! It's a statutory holiday implemented by the province of Ontario. It was really nice not to go into work today! Oh and that also means I only have 4 days left at my day job and then I am done!

Hope you all had a good weekend! I am not around much lately as I am busy packing, organizing and hanging out with my friends and such before I make my P.O.E....

Hope everyone is doing well, forms are being sent in and approved and that you're all doing just great. I plan on spamming the board again soon once I'm at home, settled in the US.

No family day in the US...although it does happen to be President's Day - gov't employees may be off.

Here in the fabulous Northern VA / DC area - we are just coming off a wonderful 11 days straight of weather related ####### - first the 2 storms and then the incredibly bad plowing by VDOT and local cities. Kids have been off school for all those days and I guess now they're saying Spring Break is in jeopardy...but rightfully so I think.

My street looks like the Freestyle moguls on Grouse Mountain in BC.....haven't see 1 plow in 11 days on our neightbourhood side streets - pathetic

Yeah...I think canceling or abbreviating Spring Break makes perfect sense. I mean, if I was a kid I would HATE it...but realistically, it's better than trying to rush through portions of their education, or imposing more homework on them for the rest of the year.

It's kind of funny...while watching the moguls yesterday you could clearly see that the ONLY snow there was on the course itself. None of the trees in the background had a single speck of white on them.

Happy Family day to you Lgg! We never had anything like that in BC. No stat holidays actually in February :( Made it a long time between New Year's and Easter :lol:

Of course, they implement Family Day in Ontario after I leave the province! :lol: Oh well, I'm a federal public servant and apparently they still have to work on Family Day anyway.

I may rub it in when I have Nunavut Day off in July. :dance:
