I wonder, can anybody give me a rough indicatoion of how long it will take to receive the greencard after that interview? (if all goes well) Only, my EAD runs out in November and it would be super if I got greencard before then.

Thanks all

If your interview goes well (approve) and the FBI name check is already done, normally you'll get your GC within 2 weeks. Good luck!

We had our interview in May, they lost Anton's medical file/ immunizations. It took another month for them to find it, we got our Welcome Letter on June 26, and the actual green card on July 3.

7-3-06 GREEN CARD ARRIVES IN MAIL!!!! Done for two years!!!!!!

I am here to help, even if it's just to offer my shoulder to cry or vent on... We are all in this together.!

My answers are based on personal experience, not fact.

We are on this rollercoaster ride together holding on for dear life.

If all goes really well and you are approved that day they will probably put a stamp in your passport and give you a letter (not the NOA Welcome to America, but another one with basically the same info) that you can use to get in and out of the country and maintain employment. Thats how it worked for my husband last week, but I have heard that many officers won't approve on the spot.

We didn't get the stamp. I asked for something to document the approval and they more or less told me to shut up and count our blessing!! We had the welcome to America letter in a few days and the card was right behind it.

timmyjfish,

we had our interview in Atlanta, and after our interview which lasted 10-15 minutes, i got a stamp in the passport (1-551) as temporary evidence of adjustment of status approval. the greencard itself arrived approximately 2 weeks later.

Well, I've been approved 2 weeks ago. My I-94 has been taken out of my passport. I didn't get the stamp and haven't received a GC yet, so I would recommend to at least ask forthe stamp in your passport.
