Back when we started AOS, we sent in a bunch of documents, including my wife's medical report in a sealed envelope. Unfortunately, shortly after, everything was sent back because we'd included only a single check to cover everything instead of individual checks for each form. Anyway, in the subsequent scramble, the medical envelope was never re-sent.

Now we finally have our interview date, and amongst other things (which the bureaucrats already have :bonk: ), they want "A completed medical examination and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope." Will the original still be good from last Spring, or do we need to get another done that's closer to this interview?

Thanks in advance,

Z

I will be filing my AOS papers in 2 weeks so I appreciated learning that separate checks must be sent. I didn't know that. Unfortunately I cannot give you a definitive answer to your question. I would think it is okay, but I would think you could call your local INS office and ask.

The VJ guide says that the fee for the I-485 also includes EAP and AP. So what check must be separate? Is it the biometric check?

I-485 includes the biometric fee, which is $1,010. This is whether or not you decide to submit the EAD and AP with the I-485.

So when the poster said her AOS was rejected because she didn't send in separate checks for each form, does anyone know what he/she is referring to? I will be doing this in 2 weeks, and planned to submit 1 check for everything (EAD, AP, Biometrics, etc . . ). Is this wrong?

I wrote a private email to the poster. The response said that the separate checks were for EAD and AP. I think that maybe they filed a very long time ago before the fee was consolidated. Unless I hear otherwise from another poster, I am going to send in 1 check. As you wrote, there are no separate fees for other forms, and the answer from 1 poster indicated that there is only 1 check.

Now I'm confused too. I'm getting my AOS package ready and I thought that one check of 1010 dollars is ok. There are no other forms to pay for

We sent only one check. We got an interview, and no RFEs. I'm very sure that only one check is required.

To the OP, your medical is good if it was withing 12 months of filing If that's the case, then the medical is "already submitted" and you don't need to get a new full medical. If you have the vaccine transcription in the sealed envelope, then just bring that to the interview if they want to see it.
