She said she got her Visa package today but it says on the package that she can't open it. It says that she has to go to the manila embassy with the package. I want to buy her ticket today so she can travel here on the 13th but I'm afraid that maybe after they open the package..the embassy required something that will delayed her flight. Is it ok for me to buy her ticket now or does she have to go through something else when she gets to the embassy? What other requirements are there? Is there anyone who has been to the embassy with the package like this before? What happens next aside from the guidance couseling?

I would wait till after she goes to the embassy as directed before getting the ticket.

but i'm crazy like that :)

I've not seen any people reporting this before - did she do the CFO all ready?

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

when you get the visa stamped in your passport back every one gets the brown envelope that says do not open, that is for the homeland security/immigration at her POE in the USA,ask her to make sure if it says [do not open, for immigration] or does it actually say take to US embassy in manila

this is the visa packet looks like the cut is normal i dont understand why she have to go back to the embassy with the packet  she can open the plastic and get her passport, she will only have to go back to the embassy and get it re-sealed again if she really open the brown envelope

Dont forget the CFO goodluck

She hasn't done the CFO yet.

You will need to have this done before travel, as I'm sure you know.

Wow, just in time for the Valentines! Congrats! Yes, she can take her passport out from the package but she can't open the brown envelope as only the IO at the POE is allowed to do it.
