I came in with K1 visa. At POE, the officer wrote down on my I-94 card a "A-followed by 8-digit number"

1. Do I put this "A-follow by 8-digit number" from my I-94 in all the forms that ask for "A#"?

2. What "A" stand for? "Alien Number?" "Alien Registration Number"?

3. Will this number be used in my Alien Registration Card (Green card) once I get it?

Thanks,

Monchan

pksang,

The pre-printed number on an I-94 is the I-94 number, not the A#.

If the A# was not written on the I-94 - look on both sides - try looking in the passport near the entry stamp, usually on the page opposite the visa.

bender,

What does this mean? Does the number you are talking about begin with 'A' and followed by 8 or 9 numeric digits or not?

Some consulates do put the A# on the visa, in the comment line below the photo.

Yodrak

... the only number with A# is on k1 visa but i dont think that is the A#.

I got 'A' number follow by 8 number under "annotation:" line on my visa. I called USCIS and she told me i shouldnt have one so i thought that is not the number.

I have a question about the non immigration visa number is that the red number on visa or the control number on the top.

thanks

Bender,

The number on the annotation line is your A#.

Either the Control Number or the RED number can be used as the visa number.
