Plan on using tabs at the bottom of my petition to seperate sections. I bought sticky tabs, is it better to

[a] attach them to blank sheets of paper to break apart the sections

make title pages for each section and attach the tabs

[c] attach them to the first official sheet in the section

Did people use tabs to seperate out the inidvidual forms (I-129f and the two G-325as) or just the evidence, proof, and attachments?

Danke! I swear I'll mail this off soon and stop asking so many questions. :P

Cass, we didn't use any. Don't worry too much about how to organize the forms and stuff in the packet. As long as everything is neat and organized, there's no problem.

Also, I read on the USCIS site that if you're using tabs, then you should stick them to the bottom of the pages. So you're right about that.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

I used tabs similar to what you would have in a note book. They are sticky and come off smoothly like a post-it. In the cover letter, I think I said each section had it's own tab: I-129F, my G-325A, her G-325A, additional evidence(and what was there: photos, bank statements, e-ticket receipts, etc).

As we all know, I didn't follow any guidelines because I'm a rebel like that. I used a flexible binder and dividers.

Cass,

I also used sticky tabs, and your option [c]. I tabbed each individual item, held some of the related items (supporting documentation, other documentation) together with small binder clips, then held the entire submittal together with a larger binder clip.

The tabs and separator sheets, if used, are going to be tossed in the sorting room when the file is created, so just make it as simple as possible for the workers to take the submission package apart and be able to identify the pieces.

Don't worry too much about little details. If you fill in the forms correctly and have strong evidence, it doesn't matter how you assemble it.

But honestly, follow your gut feeling and do what you think is right. That way you wont have regrets.

It's all in the details. :)

And trust me, having the details taken care of makes me feel 100 times more comfortable with submitting this. If I didn't worry over the little details, I'd be frantic after I mailed it off. This way, I know I've done everything in my power.

We followed your option C, i thought things would be more organized if we did them like option B, so, when i mailed in my papers to my fiance i did it that way, but i thought it was too bulky with all those extra sheets and we still had to add his documents, so, we did your C option, the tabs put things in order and will make the person reviewing the papers go straight to the point, oh and we used two colors of tabs, one for the documents and one for the evidence of having met :star:

As long as they are organized, any methods are fine. I stapled the I-130, did not staple the G-325, as I used James Clips. Then I put a sticky note on the first page of each document, like "marriage Certificate," "Naturalization Certificate," etc. You can include a cover letter where you can say what documents you are sending. Make sure, you double check your I-129F, G-315A, etc.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
