So my wife had a medical evalaution done with the 1-693 prior to sending out the 1-485. It was fille dout, and the Dr stated that my wife does not have a "physical/mental disorder with harmful behavior."

Well when we had the interview my wife let the interviewer know that she was diagnosed with a mental health condition, and is undergoing treatment. She explained her diagnosis, and what the Dr was doing for it.

Now today the mail came and in it was a Form I-72 requesting the following

"During your interview you disclosed that you have a mental health concern and you are seeking ongoing treatment from a mental health professional. Please submt evidence that explains the nature and extent of your condition and if and how it is being treated and/or managed, including any medical/psychiatric and hospitilization records"

Can they request this?? Even after I had the proper I-693 form done??

Yes. Because they are checking that she didn't lie to the doctor and because she HAS the disorder they need that evidence on record. Had she taken a document from her psychiatrist to the medical, the CS would have ticked that box (if she's not "dangerous") and enclosed a copy of the report from your doc and then your interview would have gone as normal if they were satisfied. They are simply getting "more info", like waiting for blood test results or something... it's NEEDED so they'll ask for it, and wait for it.

Also, yes it was the proper form, but it was not completed correctly and information was missing so the form whilst being filled in, wasn't "completed" or "done".

Thanks so much for your response. We can't get her medical records released to her without a ton of hassel and they will not send it certfied mail so there will be no way to track this. Any suggestions??
