Why is it that you are so vehemently for the HC reform package (The one that none of us really knew what it had in it) that was put together by congress and the president?

Was it just a partisan thing? I know I will get a lot of BS but I will just take it as though you don't want to say cuz you dont want to expose yourself.

If someone came to your door and said "heres your HC plan" You would just take it and say "thanks"?

I don't get the reasoning! Please explain?

they just have more sense than others.....a sense of entitlement. :P

That's a given, but the plan is soooooo bad. I can understand being for hc reform, but being for anything a partisan Congress can cobble together any desperate way they can get it, and parroting their strained illogic day after day? That's what I don't understand.

I have always wondered why one would ####### themselves out like that? Desperation? The overwhelming need to win at any cost? The trashing of ones conscious, just to say "HA"?

I would really love to hear an explanation. I think the crickets will prolly rule this thread. I would at least like to see at least one progressive stand-up for himself.

####### themselves out? That's a bit strong. I support HC reform, why - because many people have little to no insurance, the current system is unfair and gives generous advantage to the wealthy.

The fact that the end result of health care reform, in my opinion, may not be as good as it could be, has nothing to do with Obama or democrats/republicans in general. The U.S. political system is broken.

If the only way for people to get any form of HC, in desperation, is to accept what is being offered...so be it, can't fault them for that.

I'm a nurse and health care reform is absolutely essential. There are too many horrible things with the way it is now...I have a friend who graduated from college and was able to get a job in this recession, about 6 months after graduation. She had no money for healthcare before then and had these awful stomachaches and vomiting that wouldn't go away for weeks and I kept telling her to go to the emergency room to have a doctor take a look, but she said that she couldn't do it until she got her job with healthcare in place because if she got a diagnosis before she got a job, then the insurance wouldn't cover it as a preexisting condition. But if she waited to be diagnosed, then she would be covered.

Turns out she has inflammatory bowel disease. She's having some surgery later this month because her condition had worsened, whereas the docs told her if she had come in earlier, it could have been prevented. The insurance company will pay for the surgery (tens of thousands of dollars), but they wouldn't have paid for the meds had she come in with the diagnosis.

How is that right in anyone's mind? Morally, fiscally, all of that?

I'm so thankful that my patients (sick infants) are always covered under at least Medicaid, but I've heard so many awful stories of other friends in nursing who work with adults.

Naturalization

9/9: Mailed N-400 package off

10/9: Received Biometrics letter

10/29: Biometrics

10/31: In-line

2/16: Text from USCIS that Baltimore has scheduled an interview...finally!!

2/24: Interview letter received

3/24: Naturalization interview

And does the current HC bill cover this sad story?

Ok, so we agree that hc reform is needed, but that's not the question. The question is why was there support for this half-azzed, unconstitutional attempt to control the populace, pay off allies and put in jail anyone who didn't go along with the program? The bills before Congress has little to do with health care and more about taking over 1/6th of the nations' GDP.

paying cash for a dr visit usually gets you a great rate. just talk to the office. did that a few times and it worked out in my favor (isa needed stitches on one of her tourist visits).

they cut the bill almost in half. it turned out to be less than my co-pay/deduction.

So true. That's why I don't have health insurance.
