am i reading this incorrectly?

i went onto the uscis homepage to search out our processing timeline. based on my receipt code, the i-130 is in initial review. when i searched the timeline and entered "I-130" - "petition for spouse" - "california service center" the timeline indicated 35 months, even though the uscis goal is 5 months.

has anyone here recently filed an I-130 with the california service center? how long did it take?

maybe i'm overreacting, but when i saw that, my jaw dropped.

Yeah my girl and I are in the same 5 month lineup. The waiting is awful but like many before us all we can do is hurry up and wait. And with the help of the resorces and people on this website try not to cause ourselves any additional unneccessary delays.

Good Luck!

The waiting is definitely a drag but it helps to have company.

I hope Montreal has the backlog cleared up by the time you guys get to the interview stage. didn't mean to frustrate you further but the waiting times for interviews at present is ridiculous. Good luck guys.

It refers to the petitioner.

A LPR can petition for a spouse but the wait is very long while a US citizen petitioning for their spouse is issued an immediate via number as payxibka stated.

You are a US citizen so you're acronym would be USC. The LPR they are referring to would be those who are legal permenant residents who petition for their wives/husbands. Obviously this does not apply to you.

Perhaps you entered the info incorrectly and received that 35 months wait time for an LPR petitioning, not a USC

Good luck

^^ Agreed.

If you are looking at approximately 5 months for your NOA 2, add 4-6 weeks for NVC (my time frame here may be a bit off but last year we were through NVC in 19 days) then add 5 months to an interview in Montreal.

Hang in there, it's a long ride but you'll get there.
