hi, me and my husband are filing for cr1 at the end of february, but we have 2 questions regarding the affidavit of support.

first is the 125% over the poverty line. so for example lets say the poverty line was 10,000 (i know it's not that), so that means that we would have to have like 23,000....... right?

also, do they look at the debts and bills that the affidavit of support has? what about a co-sponsor, do they check theirs too?

thank you so much for any help you give us

the walker's :)

See the form I-864P for the income requirements. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00048f3d6a1RCRD

125% is multiplying a number by 1.25. Your example math is incorrect. (10,000 x 1.25 = 12,500, not 23,000)

Personal debts are not a part of income and do not matter. See the I-864 form for complete instructions.

Ahn map is correct but your math was correct for "125% more". However, the requirement is not "125% more", it's "125% of".
