Point is polls and surveys are meaningless at this point.

I think the point of the polls is that people will vote locally sometimes based on their disgust with National politics...

Another Obama sucks thread has already covered that same article. I think we're going to see more of this for long time.

Yes, because the US political system is a joke. This president has a mandate to be president for 4 years, elected to do the things he is currently doing. Whether or not the electorare realized that the president would actually do what he said he was going to do or not is irrelevant. Whether or not there are more people disappointed that he is now doing what he was elected to do or not also irrelevant. If the electorate do not like it, they can change it in 2012 but this type of poll is completely meaningless as the presidntial position is not open at this time.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Don't know about you, but never, ever, at no such time, was I ever asked my opinion in a poll. Really question this thing and know a lot of ####### that are guided by the results of a poll. Just another scheme to form public opinion rather than to gather it.

If you don't like what Obama is doing, first president that I know of that at least let's you e-mail to him your feelings, so are you e-mailing? I am, I don't like sending more troops to Afghanistan with reasons. One is that the Taliban is going crazy now and killing our young men with their half crazed suicidal bombers. And I certainly don't like our trade deficit with the Chinese. So express your views, maybe I am the only one sending these e-mails. What about you?

A lot of this has to do with impatience. American people want stuff now. Not tomorrow, or next year, NOW. Coming out of one of the worse economic recession in decades, its going to take years to recover the jobs we lost during the recession. Its unreasonable to expect the president to create 7-10 million jobs in less than a year, but there are people with that expectation. Now that they are realizing that economic recovery is going to take longer than they expected, they are feeling frustrated.

Give me a break. Are you that amateurish? "at least lets you send e-mails"?

For the record, you could e-mail Bush and Cheney too. I did on many occasions.

Trade deficit with the Chinese? Obama slapped tarrifs on Chinese Tires which forced the retail end to slash thousands of jobs... This is on purpose. You feel good about the tarriffs but what about the Americans who lost their jobs?

Funny, when government takeovers don't work and are abject failures, it will "take longer than we expected" and "things would have been much worse than they are now". Something which is not verifiable unless you can time-travel into the future.

Your worried about Americans loosing their jobs? Yet clamouring for free trade which has resulting in millions of manufacturing jobs leaving the US to China and other parts of the world? Dude, what the hell are you smoking?

You must not pay attention to what Obama actually does.

I didn't clamour for anything. America cannot manufacture affordable products anymore because we're paid more than any other manufacturing country, and therefore can't export hardly anything, and can't sell here either. Something different has to be done instead of constantly pandoring and bailing out the Unions.

Basically, what you are saying, we must protect low end low paid retail jobs, and get rid of all the well paid manufacturing jobs. And take away welfare or any social safety net while we are at it. Just because you are jealous of not being in a union?

So why are the Germans, French, and Japanese are setting up American manufacturing plants here? There reason is to take advantage of cheap American labor. We finally were able to compete with the Japanese, then they bring China into the picture. You never heard about major country deficits after WW II, the Korean and Viet Nam police actions as they were called. That's because all that stuff was made here where the government can get 100% of it back.

When you buy anything or get any service, not only taxes on your income but paying the taxes on that service or goods as well, as long as the buck stays in this country. If everyone is say at a 20% rate, I know it's progressive, let's keep it simple. I earn a buck and keep 80 cents of it, and give that to you for a service. You in turn have 64 cents left and give that back to me, I then earn 64 cents and have 51 cents to you. Trade the buck between us a handful of times and the government gets all of it back.

But after that buck leaves this country, they get zero from it. So what we save from buying from China is lost tenfold for the country.

I find it funny that Right Wingers have concerned themselves with popularity polls of Obama from day one that he was sworn into office, particularly after a blowing defeat last November. If the election was held today, Obama v. McCain, he'd still win the election. Context is everything. Wait another year and let's see polls showing which Republican candidates would fair against Obama...that at least is a little more telling. So far, the Republican leadership is this huge vacuum and those hoping Romney will be the one are delusional.

I think it is wonderful that Democrats are in denial. PLEASE continue. I suggest that Obama change nothing and Democrats pay NO attentiuon to the polls until, at least, mid-November 2012.

That's nothing!!! The majority of Americans voted against George W Bush BEFORE he became president.

This survey won't mean anything unless the GOP can come up with something better than McCain/Palin next time.

true enough, but ONLY if you count ALL the votes in Florida. Gore wanted to count only TWO counties which was not in keeping with the statute and this is why he lost the decision with the Supreme Court. Had he decided to play fair, instead of trying to cheat...he would have won.

But, anyway, he fixed Global Warming with his film and I am not sure he could have done that if he was President so maybe it all worked out for the best.

That's exactly what Bush did... he spit on public opinion & stuck to his (misguided) principles. There IS a middle ground b/w making political decisions based on public opinion & being inflexible. Whichever party can find a balance between the two will have the most success.

All he has to do is to stick with ideas he campaigned with, do his best to see those materialize into policy and he and the rest of the Democratic Party will be fine.
