"I miss the click click click of the high heels on pavement. I'm dying to hear it again. Mini skirts, short summer dresses, shades, cell phones glued to the ear, while making that click click click sound when they are walking."

er . . I hope you're not expecting her to be wearing her high heels and mini-skirt on the sidewalks of Alaska when she arrives next month . . . ;)

reminds me of china. lot's of hotties in china.

first time i was there a 3 week trip turned into 8 weeks, so i went out walking in the market looking for a haircut. half an hour into my search two english speaking college girls asked me what i was looking for. when i explained they took me to their favourite salon. the next hour and a half involved a parade of miniskirted tank topped barely legals with pink and green hair and neo punk fashions taking turns sitting on my lap and playing with the blonde hair as it came off. i suppose i was quite a novelty. ended up at a party at someone's apartment and don't remember the next 3 days, except for the "hooker boots" and fishnet thighs.

My wife says it's due to the lack of iodine in their diet and/or water. I'm curious if anyone has heard this explanation before? Now myself I believe it's due to genetics and lots of exercise seeing how just about everyone in Belarus walks, takes trains, and/or bus not to mention all the stairs they climb day in and day out seeing how elevators are few and far between.

Back to topic. I'm going to support you in calling BS on the Iodine theory. First, I see nothing in the Russian diet to suggest that it contains less Iodine per calorie than the American diet. Their salt is all iodized just like ours and they aren't particularly squeamish about adding salt.

Second, I see no reason to expect that a diet low in Iodine is going to lead to anything other than a goiter. While attractive in certain African tribes (reference?) goiters are not very feminine in my opinion.

I would second the "Russian girls eat less and walk more" theory. So they look hotter. End of story. Also, I think walking on ice leads to better tone in the legs and butt. Walking on ice in heels sort of multiplies the effect. I think spiked heels actually provide an advantage when walking on ice since the spikes act like ice picks. Even if they don't, walking on ice in heels is still really sexy.

But did the haircut look good?

I can only add this: I have a few Russian girl friends, and a few Ukranian girl friends and my best friend here is from Hungary... They are all damn hot... I also have other friends: Australian, many American, British, Portuguese, Brazillian, Colombian, you name it... I have a huge big melting pot of friends from all over the world that I'm very greatful for... one thing they all have in common: they're usually beautiful and put every effort into their appearance... where did we meet and become friends? At my job as a flight attendant years ago, The beach, the gym, cycling clubs, tennis clubs, the dog park, salsa clubs etc.

I hate to bring up this subject again, but just have to say something... when you guys talk about: "fat, unattractive, not-feminine,manly etc." American woman... I think you're hanging out in the wrong places: like you said, maybe Walmart and McDonald's... Now I don't know about some of my friends, but I'm pretty thrifty and will shop at even Goodwill, no problem... but I have never in my life eaten at McDonald's... and all my good-looking friends who care about their appearance do not go there either... So maybe you guys are looking in the wrong places for American woman and therefore judge that they all look a certain way... Also, most of my hot friends, have husbands/boyfriends who also care about their appearance and are sporty and outgoing, even the Russian ones, if they put effort into their appearance, I bet you they'll expect the same of you... You want a perfect 10, be a perfect 10.

I support the premise that less fatty foods, more walking and general exercise lead to healthy and beautiful people. Even the men in FSU countries look pretty good if they are sober and non-smokers. OMG, another stereo type.

But seriously, the ladies in Eastern Europe really take good care of themselves and their appearance. My wife will take an hour getting ready just so we can walk in the park. As for me, if it takes more than 15 minutes then I must have taken a shower too.

But, when you consider the differences in life styles from there to here, it is easy to see why. We put our butts in a car to go to the store to buy beer and chips instead of walking the 1/4 mile to the store. We eat more greasy and fatty foods than any country in the world and eat a lot more than we need. My wife has been here four years and she still can not finish a meal out because of the large portions.

All I can say is, go to a FSU country and decide for yourself. Oh yeah, bring good walking shoes too.

You're right, there's this common stereotype about Americans (Women AND MEN) abroad, usually along the lines of: Majority overweight, spends too much time watching tv or on the computer, not much exercise etc.. Since I've been living here I get the question a lot if this is true or not from my friends and family abroad... my answer is always: It depends on where you look, like in any other country.

If (Big IF) we were to, on a sunday morning go pop into an "All you can eat buffet" around the corner, I'm sure we will see a lot of overweight people, but then, on the other hand, when my husband and I go play tennis, that same morning we see a lot of really attractive people (all ages) who are slim/fit and seem to care about their appearance... sheezz sometimes we have to wait for a court it's so busy... In general people who take care of their health and appearance are "better looking", and if you're out looking for someone who take good care of their bodies, I would suggest not going wife shopping at McDonald's, but try the local gym/park instead (that's if you're into that sort of thing  )

I have to say...there's more to it than what has been stated already. First of all, just certain physical characteristics are hotter (to me at least). For example, eye shape...there's just something about the eyes of most RUB women that are hot to me. Secondly, and I can only say this from the perspective of my wife, but everything she does is just sexy...she has her own way of moving that just reeks of hotness. I can't put my finger on any one thing...it's just everything. So from my perspective, it's more than just nutrition and exercise...there's a genetic component and a behavioral component.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

Of course! But everyone has a little different opinion about what makes an attractive face, so we can argue all day long about what makes an attractive face: symmetry/eye color/size of eyes, lips, nose etc. I know I have "my look" - the type of face I like in a guy: I like dark hair, symmetrical face with no feature too out of proportion and I don't care about the eye color... but I have a friend who likes guys with big noses and another who only dates blue-eyed guys... go figure...

Chemistry is something very personal too, and sometimes has Nothing to do with looks.

But I reckon, that Mostly, when it comes to looks, both sexes prefer their partners to not be overweight or too skinny and make an effort with the looks they've been given naturally...

Now that's how a trip should go! You lucky f**ck shooter

Hooker boots, fishnet stockings, and mini skirts...preferably leather...but any material will do. Like mox said....I want to retire in eastern Europe....or maybe even China after reading your post. :)

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Don't flatter yourself mister, you could never push my buttons, lol !!!

I speak my mind, some people don't like it, I don't care... I think she's hot, I appreciate beautiful things - from Every country...

The only time I have a problem is when guys on here reason why they are "forced" to shop abroad for wives because American woman are this or that (insults)... We all have our different reasons for being/finding who we're with, but blaming half the population of the US for being unfit to marry is complete BS, that's when you'll bring out the  in me, oh and also stupid people bring the  out in full force
