the good news is if anyone is injured there's doctors and a medical clinic in the orphanage compound

I really hope there won't be much damage, since Haiti is surrounded by sea, so hopefully water-body will take most of the earthquake effect.

This is so terrible.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Hey guys I'm back from my voyage to JFK airport & to Arby's :)

Amby ~ the same thing happened when there was that big earthquake in Peru in 2008. I completely freaked out I couldn't get ahold of Luis all the phone lines were jammed up. Turns out he was in the shower when the earthquake hit, he fell in the shower & hit his head, everybody was freaking out and evacuating the house so he was stuck outside in his towel  a couple of dishes broke that's it. He was far enough away that it wasn't so bad.

I hope your friend is okay!!

Sandrila ~ just let me know when you plan your NY trip!

I'm going to get the kids cleaned up and in their PJs. I've had a long day. I cried like a baby at the airport. I know the two weeks are going to fly by, but I have these things called hormones that make me act like a complete lunatic.

I am so glad you finally got your Arby's, Suzi! You won't even notice the two weeks, before you know it, Luis will be back!

I just got a call from my dad. He got a call from some car financial place asking for my mother or her father (my grandfather). My dad hasn't spoken to either of them in almost 10 years. I hate my mother, ugh.

I hear you, I cry sometimes too. That's why I am happy to have you all to talk to, we're were are are in the same boat more or less.

The guy I took it to said he most likely thinks its the water pump, but he's going to run a pressure test on it to make sure it wasn't a hose. But he said if it's the water pump he gave me a ballpark figure of $511.00. Those bastards are taking me to the cleaner.

Chris, are you sure this mechanic is state certified? How much does he charge in labour?

Yes Apostle, I was struggling and wavering in my faith these past few days. But then I realized that casting all your care means to throw it as far as you can, and G-d doesn't want us to live in fear which produces worry, but in faith which produces peace. To the unbeliever, there can be no rest. But to the believer, it it right there if we just cast.

No this dude is legit, He's a certified saab mechanic hence the exuberant pricing. I hate this car, I bought it from an osteopath I worked for in VT when I was living w/ my ex gf, I still owe my ex's mother money she loaned me for the car, which really makes me feel shitty. I would really like to not have to have communications with that part of my life anymore, although i love my ex's mom I just don't like having that part of my past still in my present and future. Plus Zhanna doesn't like my ex at all, and this makes for an awkward situation.
