Lets face it just about every Arab and Muslim would love to see that State of Israel bombed into oblivion.

Is that so????? I'm glad that you can tell me how I feel. Do you have anything to back up this statement? Or is this just your personal opinion? In any case, please don't take it upon yourself to speak in the interest of the arab nation.

I am not speaking on behalf of any Arab Nation... and trust me I have no desire to. I am just making a general statement.

SO with that said...... Please reread my statement about Arabs and Muslims..... I said JUST ABOUT every Arab and Muslim... I did not say ALL Arabs or Muslims. If I had said ALL Arabs and Muslims, then you can make your statement.

"Just about" is also an incorrect statment. Terrorists DO NOT represent the arab world and they are also a very small percentage of the arab world. Most arabs/muslims are peaceful law obiding citizens. I take great offense to your comments and you obviously know NOTHING of the arab world, you can only "generalize" based off of what you see from the media.

Generalizing is just another form of racism.

Dont believe that he was talking about you specifically...only on how the general Arab world views Israel. So maybe you are the exception.

That's a pretty big generalization to be making, don't you think? I am not the only exception. I guess generalizions in are ok then? What gives him or you knowledge of the arab world? Even if you have been there or know someone, you wouldn't know what it means to be an arab unless you are one.

This article was posted to show how out of hand this war has gotten and how out of control Israel is. They are punishing the entire nation of Israel for the acts of a MINORITY in Lebanon. Hezbollah is a minority is Lebanon. They do not represent the nation or the nations interests.

Obviously, Hizbollah is a large enough minority to dominate the Lebanese government to the point they cannot even run their own country and get the terrorist out. Obviously, the many, many, thousand Arabs we see claiming death to israel and america all over the news are just a minority of those people who wish harm and destruction to everything western. Might I be wrong? Maybe a different view...like:

Let's NOT FORGET that Israel actually started this conflict by going into Lebanon and capturing two of their terrorist soldiers and killing eight others. Israel is also at fault for trying to select specific targets to destroy. No matter that Hizbollah is deliberately mixed with civillians and lobbing rockets directly into civilian areas. I personnally think that the IDF are a bunch of cowards for not hiding behind innocent people, or just firing missiles to kill innocent people.

Something to think about:

While not every Jew is a terrorist, every terrorist is a Jew.

Who Are We?

We are Arabs and Moslems who believe…

* We can support Israel and still support the Palestinian people. Supporting one does not cancel support for the other.

* We can support the State of Israel and the Jewish religion and still treasure our Arab and Islamic culture.

* There are many Jews and Israelis who freely express compassion and support for the Palestinians. It is time that we Arabs express reciprocal compassion and support.

* The existence of the State of Israel is a fact that should be accepted by the Arab world.

* Israel is a legitimate state that is not a threat but an asset in the Middle East.

* Every major World religion has a center of gravity. Islam has Mecca, and Judaism certainly deserves its presence in Israel and Jerusalem.

* Diversity should not be a virtue only in the USA, but should be encouraged around the world. We support a diverse Middle East with protection for human rights, respect and equality under the law to all minorities including Jews and Christians.

* Palestinians have several options but are deprived from exercising them because of their leadership, the Arab League and surrounding Arab and Moslem countries who do not want to see Palestinians live in harmony with Israel.

* If Palestinians want democracy they can start practicing it now.

* Arabs must end the boycott of Israel.

* We stand firmly against suicide/homicide terrorism as a form of Jihad.

* We are appalled by the horrific act of terror against the USA on 9/11/2001.

* Arab media should end the incitement and misinformation that result in Arab street rage and violence.

* We are eager to see major reformation in how Islam is taught and channeled to bring out the best in Moslems and contribute to the uplifting of the human spirit and advancement of civilization.

* We believe in freedom to choose or change one’s Religion.

* We cherish and acknowledge the beauty and contributions of the Middle East culture, but recognize that the Arab/Moslem world is in desperate need of constructive self-criticism and reform.

We are NOT:

* Anti-Islam, Anti-Arab, confrontational or hateful.

We remember with deep sadness and respect the brave Arabs, known and unknown, who were killed or severely punished for promoting peace with Israel; a special thanks to President Anwar Sadat of Egypt who was killed at the hands of Militant and Radical Islamists after he signed the peace treaty with Israel.

We salute and commend Arab and Moslem writers, scholars and speakers, who found the strength, commitment and honesty in their hearts to speak out in support of Israel. We thank you for being the pioneers that you are and for holding such sophisticated and advanced views in the realm of Arab and Moslem thinking. You are inspiring us all.

May I ask what do you think is the appropriate response for Israel against Hezbollah? Should Israel allow Hezbollah to remain a military threat?
I think there are diplomatic ways that it could be resolved. I think there was mistakes made on both sides. The only way for Israel to be sure that Hezbollah is not ever going ot be a military threat is to destroy the entire country and its people because there is no way for them to be able to know who is what. Is that logical?

Last I checked, kidnapping a couple of soldiers does not qualify as diplomacy. And it wasn't Isreal that kidnapped two soldiers but Hezbollah. And you know why they did that? Here you go:

"The truth is _ let me say this clearly _ we didn't even expect (this) response ... that (Israel) would exploit this operation for this big war against us," said Komati [Mahmoud Komati, deputy chief of the Hezbollah's political arm].

He said Hezbollah had expected "the usual, limited response" from Israel after the two soldiers were seized by guerrillas on Israel's side of the border on July 12.

In the past, he said, Israeli responses to Hezbollah actions included sending commandos into Lebanon, seizing Hezbollah officials and briefly targeting specific strongholds in southern Lebanon.

Komati said his group had anticipated negotiations to swap the Israeli soldiers for three Lebanese held in Israeli jails, with Germany acting as a mediator as it has in past prisoner exchanges.

These fools grossly miscalculated and they and the people that harbor them are now harvesting the fruit of that very miscalculation. You just don't negotiate with those type elements - they follow no protocol and have no code of conduct. They're just impossible to deal with diplomatically as they're neither diplomats not do they follow any kind of diplomatic protocol. Both would be pre-requisites for a diplomatic approach. ;)

Is that the group that holds it's meetings in the local phone booth?

ok, so what is your opinoin on Israel? And what is in your estimatin, the opinion of most Arabs on Israel?

Daniel

:energetic:

Israel is a superpower, like the US and UK. There are MANY arabs living in Israel. Israel will always be a controversial area, it is the birthplace of the 3 major religions of the world: Juddism, Christianity, Islam. War is NOT the answer.

I can't tell you what the opinion is of most arabs since I am not at liberty to speak for them. What I can tell you is that within my community and the people I know, we only want peace. We DO NOT support Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda, or any other terrorist orginazation. We want to live our lives, we want a good future for our families. This is what everyone wants. :star:

Yah. Arabs just love Israel. Give me a break. Maybe not everyone wants to see it

wiped off the map, but no-one -- and I mean no-one -- in the Arab world likes Israel.

No one? Again, a very strong statement that does not come from FACT but your own opinion. How do Israeli's feel about arabs? There is indeed hatred, that doesn't mean its "everyone" Unfortunatly the media only shows you what they want you to see.

Obviously, the many, many, thousand Arabs we see claiming death to israel and america all over the news are just a minority of those people who wish harm and destruction to everything western.

Have you counted them? Even if they were 500,000, that is still a very small percentage.
