Once a K-1 (I-129F) has been filed and check cashed, is it possible to get a refund, or have that money transferred to a new CR-1 Application? Or am I SOL once it has been cashed. I thought the K-1 was the only way to get her here (filed everything before I found VJ.com). Now I think it makes more sense to get married in her home country (Portugal) and bring her in under the CR-1 Visa. Any thoughts out there?

To clarify -- I'm not laughing at the person questioning ... I'm laughing at the thought of USCIS giving a refund ..... oops another one is coming ...

There's no refund Im aware of. I believe a K3 cost more than a K1 plus factor in starting over again to cancel the in process K1. I suggest sticking to your original K1.

Good luck.
