Fasting is tomorrow if anyone is interested in joining us.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

See the bible is another thing that is confusing to me. It is a book over 2000 years old. I cannot help but believe that it has been altered or misinterpreted since then.Even with modern technology facts and stories get distorted and bent out of context. I think there are very good core values and lessons but I have a hard time with this concept. This is my own cross to bear (pun intended).

I honestly wish I could find the comfort that some do in reading the Bible. It has been a while since I have read it. I should probably read it again.

Chris...a LOT of people (including me up to a point) think like you've mentioned above, and then seek no farther to try to find out if their suspicions are true or false. The facts are that the Bible has remained 97% unchanged since it was handed down to us. 97% consistency over a 2000 year period is pretty amazing...the 3% differences are mainly 'typos' and errors that came out of Erasmus's sloppy redacting of the King James Version of the bible. He simply made a lot of errors...at that time.

But more importantly is what Susita has said regarding interpretations of the bible. What you'll find in a LOT of Protestant churches is a very literal interpretation of the Bible. What you'll find in Catholic Churches is a very 'spiritual' interpretation of the Bible. In reality, the Protestants tend to be too literal, and the Catholics at times tend to be to spiritual in their interpretation. That is why it is important to read it, to fully understand it. Only then can you begin to erase your doubts.

To add to what the Bishop said, before you begin to read the Scriptures, pray that the Holy Spirit will interpret and make the words clear to you so that you may understand. It really works!
