It's because a lot of people are morons or just plain irresponsible.

People don't think they can stand the pain of separation...what a bunch of wimps in the least manner, and cowards at the most!

I learned alot from my wife about handling 'separation'. When AAm and I would first be separated, it seemed like I would suffer...but it was a piece of cake for her...she never suffered! I asked her, 'why does it seem so easy for you when we are apart...yet so difficult for me'...she just told me 'Bpai Pen Rai'...which is the Thai term for 'don't worry/be happy', essentially. My wife remains 'unfazed' during any circumstance, whether happy or sad, and just really knows how to live in the moment, knowing that she is blessed in all things and at all times. She is the first person I have ever met who really does know how to live in this manner, though many people talk in this manner, my wife doesn't talk about it, she does it! So, when we were together, she would be happy and when we were apart she would be happy...never conflicted and never in fear or engulfed in self-centered pathetic suffering. I've tried to emulate that in my life, but unless you're raised like that then it is a difficult trait to cultivate...especially being from the West where we tend to worry about everything in life except the exact moment we're living in....

Christ had a lot to say about this very topic...but...the Bishop will hold off on that for a minute...

Ok...so the Bishop in me cannot hold back :blush::innocent::lol:...you know how I get at times, so here is what Christ said on worrying and suffering. and especially on how to 'live in the moment' in order to know happiness and faith, and this can be applied to the immigration process as well. Christ said, "I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on [bishop add: or about the immigration process]. For who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

I love that last line...more true words were never spoken...but back to topic, people who do the VWP->AOS and try to 'shortcut' the correctly prescribed CR-1 process probably do so out of fear and worrying, and could benefit from the example of my wife and these words of Christ.

So Viola! There is your Bishoply Pulpit for the Day!:blush::innocent:

Hola, Len....how goes it?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Hmmmm...there is an interesting series on the History Channel which I'd never seen before. It is called, "Ancients behaving Badly" (I think) I've watched three programs this morning and they talked about how some of the Ancient rulers conquered etc...

This morning they had shows about: Nero (me no likey ) / Ghengis Kahn / Hannibal.

It was pretty interesting stuff!

Right above this post...#4970. Some nice Christ words for you...

:secret: Bishop would rather live in India than USA :secret: Once, while living in India, I had vacation so I spent a week at a Hilltop station in Matheran (City of Krishna). I swear, I could have stayed their my entire life! It was quite remote, and I had to hike up to it (train went 2/3 the way...next 1/3 you had to hike). I don't think they'd seen many big white guys there before cuz I got a lot of looks like diz:  However, it was a real slice of heaven. Hotel (very small, 10 rooms, and only one on the Hilltop) was $10USD/night and that included all the Indian food I could eat! I thought to myself, "I could cash out my 401(k) and retire here, right now, for the rest of my life."...I was tempted to do it...but, I didn't " Someday though...

Morning Len & Mal! Como Estas?
