no #######. Just last night the redhead and I were talking about this, and the need to talk to his parents pronto about this crapola.

Amiga - I agree with Amby, and with your sentiments above as well. I know you're wise enough/intelligent enough to discuss this with them in a very literal and direct manner in order that they get your point that you and Bren are planning a victorious 2010, and that you have to keep focused in order to deal with Bren's condition as well all the other 'worldly #######' that is currently ripping away your wonderful spirit.

If they can't understand, or choose not to deal with that, then I say they have a lack of compassion and love for you both, or are just  in the head! If that is the case, then do the following: "Any place that does not receive you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off the soles of your feet for a testimony against them. [Mark 6:11]"

See? Even in the Bible we get great advice from Christ on how to tell people to STFU and GTFO!

Now...the Bishop needs to retire for a moment to recollect himself

2010 Blessings to HermanaLunatica&RedHead

P.S....see the top line of my autosig...it gives great advice for you: Find your peace, at all costs, only then can you bring peace to others...

Bishop

Len, talking to the in-laws about these things can be tricky but I think that's absolutely necessary to make yourself clear before such situations are "settled", 'cus then it's like you suddenly changed on them.

She's irritating because she's one of those people who when they are in a relationship, their entire world becomes that person. Her boyfriend is an annoying loser. So quite naturally, she's become annoying. She's completely absorbed with her loser bf and rarely even talks to anyone else. What is worse is that she was going to come visit this next summer and now that has become a group visit. Mel has told her and her parents have told her that he was not welcome to come. But of course, she doesn't even hear that. I don't think she will visit to be honest, not with her new car payment, so it's really not worth picking a fight with her over it.

My Baby Sister, who I adore, is like this...but with her KIDS!

Me: Hey Sis, did you see that the sun came up this morning (insert any topic here)?

Sis: Yes and it was on BabyBoy#1's first birthday and first footsteps and yak yak yak and more F'inKidYak...

Don't get me wrong, my sister and her husband and her kids are great...but sHHEESSHh...she needs a mother's day out to remind herself that she does have a 'self'...

True -- and I played along for a little too long, since I did not want to hurt their feelings. but enough of this bullsh1t: I do not care if BIL and Cow or kid cease to exist. sue me, but I just don't care

Bishop, you are the man!

Did I? Oh my, I wasn't looking too carefully on who posted what.

My apologies, had several pages opened I think Caro had posted in the LOLcat thread?

I meant Staashi!

Girl, it's all good - babies in siggies and Argentine flags makes it easy confuzions.

BTW, are you applying for citizenship now???

I (L) my in-laws but in a way am kind of happy we don't live close by. (Well, actually an hour or so away would be okay, you know it would make it easier to visit).

My MIL thinks she can read the future off of coca leaves and doesn't listen to anybody  My one SIL thinks I'm a bad housewife and that I have robots who clean my house & machines that do everything, and that you are not a good mom unless you BF your kid until he's 3. My one BIL is super awesome but is always drunk/hungover when I see him and likes to hug a lot (A LOT). My FIL happens to be my favorite though, every time he goes out he brings me back ice cream

My family is far from normal so this is not so strange to me. However, I grew up with my family and their quirks. Fortunately there are no conflicts with us and anyone else, being that my husband is the conflict-resolving king in his family. :star:

I want to, but unforseen expenses the past two months dried us up. I'll be filing as soon as finances are normal again.

Good - plus, you need to do some research about this. If your spouse is in military there are different perks to applying.

I think the perks are only if I was the one in the military? I think my application will just be a regular one.

I probably won't send my application in until after Luis has left for basic training, so am just hoping I manage to get finished it with before I move to wherever he'll go after Tech School.

Susita, my MIL and I get along great but we're so different that sometimes I too avoid visiting for a couple of weeks 'cus I need some space. She's very superstitious and mildly insane. She once told me she believes in mermaids 'cus her father worked in a merchant ship traveling around the world and would come home telling crazy sailor stories, but if he said he saw one, then it HAS to be true. I mean, she still believes it today.

Also she said once she was in a party and in the backyard of the house there was a big tree and scattered around the floor were nuts (as in peeled, ready to eat nuts) and she thought it was a nut tree and started gathering them all to take home till the home owner told her those were nuts she threw in the backyard for the squirrels that lived in the tree (not a nut tree).

She's of course, funny as hell, but I can't speak my mind near her as I'd probably shock her to no end.
