Well, it has a few stages before that. You send the package off to the USCIS. Once the case is approved, it is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC) for the background checks. After this, the case is forwarded to the consulate listed by you on the I-129F form. Then the consulate, upon receiving your case, will send the beneficiary in Nigeria packet - 3, that is a list of forms you need to send them in order to process your case further. Then you will have your interview.

Good luck !!!

Hello,

Does everyone need to provide 3 years of tax returns or does that pertain to self employed individuals? I am not familar with this part at all. I have obtained my paystubs and a letter of employment verification from my company, but am not sure if I will need the 3 years of tax returns? If you know where i can find that info that would be great.

Thanks

Chris/Ping

What you need to provide is really the choice of the interviewing consulate officer and different embassys have differing standards, but, generally no, the standard instruction for the I-134 do not state any requirement for tax returns except for those self-employed.

However, I would suggest you provide copies of at least the past year and your most recent pay stub (or 3).

The consulate in Guangzhou recommends you provide the I-134, a copy of the most recent tax return, and proof of current employment.

As has been said, the requirements are unique to each consulate. Follow whatever instructions the consulate provides.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
