Good day everyone! I just had my medical 2 days ago. I read somewhere that it is a problem if you have tattoos. Well, the doctor asked me if I had a tattoo on my eyebrows.. Stuttering, I said yes. But I had it a long time ago like I was still in high school. Cosmetic tattoo is different from others right? I asked her if that was a problem, she said no. But i'm still worried. Will it cause me a denial on my visa? :(

I would doubt a tattoo would cause a denial .. tattoos are very common and I know in the US we have some very tattooed individuals.. I just think it is something they need to know so they test for other stuff that can be transmitted with a needle.. Not sure if that is true but just a thought.

When I had my medical the doc wrote in my notes I had a tattoo on my back and what it was. I asked her why and she said we have to list any distinguishing marks.

As aggravating and mind boggling and difficult as this process is, try not to lose your common sense or ability to think logically! A visa is not going to be denied because the visa applicant has a tattoo! First off, if having a tattoo was reason for denial, it would be listed on the USCIS website as an ineligiblility. Second, again, common sense. Zillions of people have tattoos. It just doesn't hold any weight as a reason for denial. It does make sense to make a note of it as a distinguishing mark - and nothing more!

RELAX and good luck.

Though if it was a tattoo of ALF and Gary Coleman.. they may require a waiver.:lol::lol::lol:

They have black lungs? But yeah with the medical thing.. all they are trying to do is make sure you don't have a communicable disease.. especially the ones that are non-existent in the US now .. no one wants an epidemic.

The chest xray is to determine whether you have TB or not. Smoking a lot is a seperate problem, but not a reason for denial. :P

Again, they are looking for medical issues that are ineligibilities and require a waiver. These are things like HIV, communicable diseases or drug addicts - things that could result in the petitioner bringing a disease into the country that could spread, or could result in the petitioner costing the US government money for their care. And that's it.

NO NO!! No dumb questions - this process is a mystery to all of us and we are continually freaking out over tiny details. Better to ask and be reassured then to mess up big time. Good news for you is that you can relax!!!
