OFFICER said every thing is OKAY except that he did not receive my FBI name check clearance yet :(

Here is interview story , a bit boring

I and my wife gathered all papers and stuff .updated every thing arranged files, photoes.

TRAVEL & WAITING BEFORE INTERVIEW

On interview morning we woke up at 6:30 . it was really raining hard outside and took us almost 2 hours to get to downtown chicago. anyhow we were in federal building at 10 o clock. Interview time was 10:15.We went through security check, and then moved to second floor. Almost 200 people were sitting in a big hall. we signed in at front desk and sat there. after every 5- 10 minutes a lady from front desk started calling names of 5- 10 people and redirected people to different floors.

at 11: 30 she called my name and asked us to go to 23rd floor. on that floorr another bunch of 40 people were sitting we waited there for another 40 minutes, and finally a young white guy came ouside and loudly announce my name and asked us to follow him.

INTERVIEW START and DETAIL

At 12:10 we were in his office. He was very polite to both of us and asked us to take oath . So we took oath and then interview started.

He asked for our ID. i showed him my passport , I94 he and my wife showed her state ID and passport.

Then he started looking at the file which we submitted earlier.

Then he asked us about our birth and marriage certificate.

hn he asked me about I-485 NO questions.

then asked how did you meet?, when i proposed her/, why no reception yet? what are you doing now?

he said what

then he said what do you have in common.

I showed him our joint back account

. As we both were living at her parents home , i submiited al etter from his father showning we both together are living.

Next question to my wife, who is your sponsor? and how do you know her?

He asked about photographs and we showed him an album of almost 25 pics.he asked about pics . who is this , where is this place etc?

After that he said every thing in your file is okay BUT

FINAL VERDICTy

Every thing is okay in your file but unfortunately you are the 3rd person today so far whom i have not received FBI clearance yet. and wrote on file FBI clearance with red pen.

ASKED US DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS

I was very angry and disappointed at this moment. I was thinking in y mind, Oh my GOD i am in FBI club people. he told us i am done and returned us our id and returned me my I 94.

Then i asked him, How long will it take to get FBI name check, He said he does not know himself

he said whenever clearnce comes , i will be informed by a letter. that is it.

After that we both left his office . Thinking in my mind, that now i am now in another long row of people.Total interview time was for 15 minutes.

Best of luck for other couples who have interview.

can i get my EAD and SSn right now or not

Hi, how're you doing? If I were you, I would call the customer service to follow up about the EAD and try to get the referral number from them, make an infopass appointment and write a letter to the congressman. I would do these three things altogether. Regarding SSN, I think once you get your EAD, you problably know what you need to do. Don't worry about that. Good Luck. My husband and I've been through the EAD matter before, it was very frastrating.

Your case has been moving quite fast, so that may be why your clearance check is not yet complete. As already suggested, make info pass appointment to attempt obtaining interim EAD. I hope it has not yet been approved, as they will make you wait until it comes in the mail. All the best.

We had the same experience. We applied for AOS summer 2004, passed our interview in April 2005, but were told we were pending namecheck. We're still waiting.

My advice is to think about what you need if this takes a long time. Get AP so you are free to travel. Get authorization to work. Yeah, it costs a few hundred dollars and it will be wasted if your namecheck comes through quickly. But on the other hand, it allows you to settle down a little and not be quite as obsessed with the delay in your green card. When ours finally comes through, maybe we will be pleasantly surprized.

I hope yours is faster than some of ours have been. We just got a letter telling us to come in for more fingerprints, so I guess that means at least that they haven't lost our file.

Good luck.
