Hi everyone.

Ok I am getting ready to send my AOS documents and I need some assistance. I am submitting an AOS with I-765 (work authorization) and I am just wondering if I need to send in two copies of evidence as the two forms ask for the same items.

The AOS asks for 2 passport pictures and so does the Work Authorization. So I send 4? Also the copy of my visa, do I need to do it twice?

The copy of my marriage certificate. Do I have to send the original?

G-325A, do I really need to make 4 copies as I can't see that requirement anywhere in the instructions.

I may look back at these questions tomorrow and be like, duh, but right now I am just over thinking and just want to get this right.

Okay thats me. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes the petitions will be split up so you need to send what each forms request for so doubles for most stuff. You need 4 passport photos, correct. If you send the AP as well then it would be 6 passport photos. For the marriage cert you only need a colour copy of the certified copy to send in, but you can send a certified copy if you want to instead.

Here's a link to a post I made that might help you with what to send in with AOS. Other people have told me it was very helpful to them.

You should consider sending the the AP application in case an emergency and you need to go home before you get your green card. There have been unexpected illnesses and deaths of family members and without AP or a green card, you won't be admitted back into the US and would have to start all over with a spouse petition. It's free if you send it along with your AOS.

When in doubt heir on the side of caution...

I sent 6 passport photos, 3 copies of the I-94, and 3 copies of the K-1.

It can't hurt to duplicate.

There are several posts on this forum where people have posted their AOS/AP/EAD cover letters. Those included an inventory of everything they sent. I found those posts to be very helpful when I was compiling my wife's package.

Include a cover letter and organize the package very well. It is worth your efforts.

I also only sent two picture and I read the isntructions three times before I even began. They only asked for two pictures and the guide here only says to send two pictures so I'm very confident that only two pictures are required.

you did NOT read the instructions for EAD and AP.

They BOTH require 2 photos each please see required items for ead and ap in the instructions.
