My interview was on 12th Nov in Montreal, we were missing one document my hubby's divorce papers, the guy who interviewed us gave us

a fax number and asked us to fax the D papers and once they receive they will start processing and we should get the Visa in One week,

my hubby faxed the papers on 13th Nov at 11 am.

My concern is people who attended the interview after me received Visa, any one can suggest me anything ??? I have to vacate my house

end of this month, also I stopped working assuming I will be moving with my hubby to the US.

Please help me with you suggestions.

Lately it has been taking visas about a week to be sent out from the Montreal consulate. If your hubby needed to send more information, that could tack on a few days after they received it.

Did you give them an overnight / express envelope at the interview? If so, did you write down the tracking number?

Chances are that things will be wrapped up this week, and you should get it next week. It's impossible to know, of course, but if you were told "one week", then I wouldn't get concerned for a few more days yet.

Chin up!

Montreal is one of the most backlogged U.S. Embassies in the world when it comes to CR-1 visas (behind only Ghana, Gambia and Iran...), but I'm sure they'll process your additional information very quickly, given that you were already given conditional approval, and they have your passport.

If you don't see it by next Wednesday, I'd give them a call. I'm not sure if the embassy will be open for U.S. Thanksgiving or not.

There is no US Embassy or any Embassy of any country in Montreal. Embassies are in Ottawa. The OP is dealing the the US Consulate in Montreal.

That's just a matter of semantics. U.S. Consulates are part of Embassy services, right down to the fact that the website is http://www.consular.canada.usembassy.gov/montreal.asp/

I'm pretty sure the OP, and pretty much anyone else in the process, knows what I was referring to.

Nopes we did not submit the divorce papers and they never asked for it. During my interview they asked to fax it, my hubby faxed the papers the next day (13th Nov).

According to your timeline you entered the US on Nov 5th... It can take a month or so for the greencard, you can go to the local Social Security office and apply for the card and will get it normally within a week or so...

Interview date has nothing to do with when you receive the green card, it begins to get processed once you enter the USA at the POE
