We have members who have sent in additional information 8 weeks ago still waiting for their visas, Miss.

Oh Noooo.... but the guy who interviewed my told us that we should get our visa in 1 week.

Thanks for the info.

I am confused. why did CO montreal ask for your husband D papers. if they never asked while filing I-130 or at the NVC. Did you guyz forgot to mention in the application about previous marriage and the now the case is in AP. Hopefully it will be resolved soon. I would email the embassy and try to find out.

Well in the filled doc my hubby mentioned it was his 2nd marriage as he had been divorced previously, never did they ask for the divorce

papers but when we were being interviewed the guy said he was surprised no one asked for the divorce papers.

We emailed the embassy still no reply.

My interview was Oct 27th and we still haven't received the greencard, SSN, and work authorization number. How long after the interview do they arrive.

According to your timeline you entered the US on Nov 5th... It can take a month or so for the greencard, you can go to the local Social Security office and apply for the card and will get it normally within a week or so...

Interview date has nothing to do with when you receive the green card, it begins to get processed once you enter the USA at the POE

Aha ok. They don't automatically send you it with the Green Card? I thought they did that now?

USCIS and the SSA are two completely different entities - the two cards would not come together.

Yes, what Malrothien is indeed correct.

Here is the thing. There is a place on the DS-230 where you can mark a box to say that you would like to have your SS card sent to you automatically. If you did mark this then, in theory it should show up in the mail at some point.

It does not alway work - so if you haven't seen your SS card in say, two weeks, it's best to go to the SS office and apply yourself.

Good luck

You are correct. WE checked that box and they made us wait three weeks to process the SS card at the local office. This is to prevent receiving two different social security numbers (or so we were told) I think it's best not to check this box and just go to the local SS office to get the card processed.

Best of Luck!
