It's first come first serve

Get there NO LATER than 6:45am or you'll be there all day. It is a very busy consulate - 8:30 means nothing

Good luck.

Where are you from, maisflocon? In our case, it wasn't first come, first serve. Kinda random. Yes, come early. Coming earlier gives you time to observe and listen to the others being interviewed! You can also relax and chat with other beneficiaries.

Here's to a successful interview for you!

Hi all,

Our CR-1/IR-1 appointment letter says to be there at 8.30am, but I have been reading that people arrive at the embassy at 7am. Should we be there earlier or 8.30am is just fine? Is the interview being done on a first come first serve basis?

This tends to be Consulate specific but in general it is not an "appointment". It is a time when a group of people are brought into the Consulate for that day's appointments. All similar appointments for a give day are for the same time. In most cases, the order of service is pretty random. They call you when they are ready for you without regard for any order of arrival. If it's raining, cold, hot or you don't like standing for long periods, there's usually no reason to be early but do not be late.
