Never mind Kristin,I went and checked what you had to say about the co-sponsor question. So hopefully, mine will not be a big deal also.:)

And hey Naddy,it suddenly struck me today morning,so let me ask before I forget.

I do not see a medical in your signature. Is the French consulate not asking for one?

Duh,Naddy please do me a favor and ignore what I wrote above.I obviously did not pay close attention to your signature.

I didn't unfortunately - stupidly it's the one thing I didn't keep a copy of - but I know exactly what I wrote on it and what dates I wrote and even what colour pen I used, so easy to replicate.

UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...

I got an email back from the Embassy. Unlike I was told on the phone, they hadn't lost my checklist (I KNEW I'd sent it!!), but apparently were holding back on scheduling an interview until nearer my travel date (apparently I'd just put October 2010...clearly my memory isn't all that  although I knew I'd been debating whether to put October or leave it blank).

Anyway they have now forwarded my 'new travel dates' to the Embassy and say I should receive my interview date in 3-4 weeks.

So - a few things I'd like to note about this experience:

1. Can't believe how fast I got an email back from the Embassy....6 hours. Is that a record?

2. It appears the Embassy were trying to do something nice for me by holding back the date - but why not tell me that's what you're doing? Would save me freaking out. And anyway - regardless of when I'm travelling I just want this whole process over with. I'm knackered. Plus I want to avoid that $350 fee ;)

3. It's always good to know that when you're calling a premium rate number you're going to get totally incorrect information :bonk:

Anyway - it's fixed. I'm happier now :)

Some happy new to report...visa approved!! David said everything went very smoothly this morning, everyone he dealt with was really nice and he was in and out of the embassy in about an hour. We're both so relieved and happy to have this part of the process over. He probably won't move over till mid-June but it's nice to feel that there's nothing stopping him from coming over as soon as next week if we want!

We will write up a review in our timeline later today or tomorrow for those who are interested in the details.

Best of luck to all of you getting ready for your own interviews!

For this I would like to say...yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Will update our graduate list once I've trawled through all my post-holiday emails ;)
