Given the price of gas, I would not be surprised if they would.

The public has been very conditioned and used to believing the war was originally about oil anyway. Perhaps they would be desensitized to it by now.

Probably not. For one thing it would add a rather different color to the term "serving your country". Euphemisms have a purpose in political language - get what you want by making it appear to be something else.

Of course not, that's why he lies. There are many greedy people here who only care about themselves (as you have admitted openly here), granted, BUT the majority of Americans are kindhearted, caring people and don't want innocent people to suffer just so they can drive around in big SUVs and live in luxury. That's why the approval polls went down so much after the American public found out the truth about Bush. That's why he's going to allow Israel to continue terrorizing it's neighbors in hopes that they will piss enough people in the world off so he'll have an excuse to invade the remaining countries he has on his to-do list.

Of course not, that's why he lies. There are many greedy people here who only care about themselves (as you have admitted openly here), granted, BUT the majority of Americans are kindhearted, caring people and don't want innocent people to suffer just so they can drive around in big SUVs and live in luxury. that would be BS.....Americans do not believe this. Israel has reached peace with some of their neighbors. They do not actively terrorize their neighbors under orders from Bush. Israel would like to have peace agreements with all their neighbors, but that wioll be impossible as long as religious fanatics keep sriring the pot, justifying killing inoocent people in a shopping center with a bomb.

I would consider you view of whats happening as distorted as you perceive mine., But I do know that Israel did not invade Lebonan, and I know that Israel will wipe out any uniformed army that tries to come up against them. I hope they kill all these crazies.

All things being equal, I don't want anyone to suffer so that I can drive around in my SUV.

Hell, I would even sell my SUV and buy a Toyota Prius if it would solve the world's problems*.

However, given the choice of A) giving up their cars or houses vs B) innocent people suffering

elsewhere in the world, myself - and probably most people -- would go with option B.

Also, don't the majority of Americans want America to be #1, as in "richest, most powerful,

etc etc nation on earth"?

my lifestyle completely to make some foreigner happy.
