ya - call NVC - and ask when the casefile left, and how ( 1. safefile ONLY or 2. DHL and safefile ) then

CALL DOS for current status. If the casefile was sent out via SAFEFILE only, you might have a nice surprise at DOS when you call.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I just got my second letter from the NVC saying they will be forwarding my petition to Guangzhou within the week, the first was dated September 8, the second was October 4, what's up with this?

You do need to call them at NVC and see what is what.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Ok I am calling Monday! I will let you know what I find out. Fortunately the account numbers were the same. Thanks for all the help!

I got the same thing. First, I got NOA2, then I got a letter on a plain white paper which includes the case number the embassy will use. The document states my application will be forwarded to Prague embassy. Few days later my fiancee received Packet3.

WOO HOO !

Now it's time to call DOS, ask for status, daily.

But - I suggest to ask for:

1. Current Status, with the date/time stamp.

2. last 3 prior statuses, with each date/time stamp.

GUZ does some strange stuff, so back at DOS, the Tele-Operator will 'see' current stuff - with a small list of prior stuff - and not really understand what it is ... The Tele-Operator can read, though, so be nice when you ask for the last 3 prior things.

Also, if the casefile went SOLELY through SAFEFILE on the 7th of October, you might have a nice surprise today (CaseFile Opened at GUZ ) when you check in with DOS. They still have to send to the P3 to her, etc etc - but ....

OK when you say DOS do you mean the same number I used to call the NVC, or is there a different number?

DOS <> NVC - totally different systems.

DOS Tele-Operators can tell you what they see on their screen - that data is shared with GUZ.

DOS hotline - (202) 663-1225 - there's some special sequence to punch to 'get a human'.

Good Luck !
