There once was a man from nantucket....

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

OK, here is a love poem that I almost entered into a poetry contest at my school in 2008. I had printed the poem onto a heart-shaped piece of paper (laminated) and the words filled up the heart. I went with another poem and didn't win...

Dear First Love

Dear First Love, I just want to tell you that you are really special to me. The reason is simple; you were my First Love! I kinda look back on our brief relationship and compare it to winning the lottery and going completely broke shortly afterwards. When I first met you, of course, that was like winning the jackpot! Having you was the most beautiful part of my entire life. And when we stopped dating, well, it was like my jackpot (you) had suddenly disappeared. But thank you so much for giving me such a remarkable experience. I don't ever need to win the lottery in my lifetime. Because of you, I already know exactly what that feels like.

Here is another:

December 13th, 2008, Untitled

Cross my heart and wish to die, hop on a cloud and fish from the sky, wake up and go see, a library full of philosophy, mind unwinds to its pure form, far from a sure norm, the truth is opaque, white like snowflake, I don't want a pond, give me the whole lake, my backyard is a jungle, full of insects and amphibians, swamps and creeks, gators that chomp their teeth, dinos that stomp their feet, don't trespass where the monsters eat, delicatessen like lobster meat, a pasture with swans and sheep, a Shepard with lots of beliefs, wants and needs, spring to autumn, a sudden loss of leaves, moist air creates the moss in trees, avoid noise where the bosses speak, graveyards where the crosses sleep, it's vacant here, the cost is cheap, kangaroos that often leap, the daily forecast is frost and sleet, survival of the fittest so toss the weak, gold metal, an awesome feat, the land of my mind is war torn, you've been forewarned, its a danger zone, heavily armed and guarded, tanks and rockets, spaceships and nukes, militia and troops, don't whisper or move, precision and clues, the mission is who? Mirror is in front of my eyes, target in sight, permission to shoot.

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

(for my friend, Spooky)

Once I thought I was a turtle

But I climbed over that hurdle

To find myself thinking I'm a fish

Only to be filleted, broiled and served on a dish

So then I pretended to be a spider

Saw a lovely girl and spun my web beside her

She waved her arm and left me in a mess

I quickly left that scene

Seeing her in such distress

So I forgot about my limbs and became a snake

I ventured in her garden

But she scared me with her rake

So now I just imagine myself a manatee

A hopeless consequence of inhumanity

Dirty water was never my best shade

Nor was this lump of clay

Meant to be man made.

no story to tell

Once u opened yr heart to receive what is true

Now u r standing at the mirror, u know Ur name but this is not u

U remember his voice when Ur name was said

Touching yr feeling, turning ur head

U had more to give ,u had more to choose

how come u are alive ,how come u r dead

u lost ur mind ,u cried, u were abused

u regretted for ur past now ,nothing to lose

Forgive your mind when it took u to places u hate to go

And obey the reality rules that u still know

Once u were a tool… but now u r the strongest straw

Open Ur eyes, recover Ur soul… deception is not for u

U miss the unknown of yr life and years go by

Clock ticks and teardrops melt, u catch ur days, u try

Pick a faded rose from the pages of yr past

Can u hear the sound of his unreasonable goodbye?

Ringing in ur ears like distortions of an amplifier

A broken happiness missed the meaning forever

Between" yes" and" no" will he return? But he will never

Lean your nose to the rose between ur fingers

It has no smell , no past to remember

Whisper to ur soul" is there a story to tell"?

Shout to the rose where has gone your smell?

Burn this black book inside the serenades of yr soul

Call yourself deceived or loser whatever u call

Take yourself aback lean your back against the wall

No more tears while grey ashes touch ur feet

Once u had a heart…now u are living with iron ball

U r attracted to invisibility of past moments but u will defeat

Because faded leaves never grow again after their fall

Yesterday a Facebook friend wrote the following note (paragraph 1), my continuation is paragraph 2...For the past 3 or so years I average 2-4 poems a year when I get really bored.....

Since no one reads this, bout to drop that sweetness, or at least some lyrical freak sh!t, syrupy meat mixed with pancakes and deep dish pizza to eat quick then regret. I blend concepts like Top Chef contestants blend remnants of ruminants in range top reductions. Tonight's specials: rainbow ravioli filled with glitter and glue; patience and strength in a simmering stew - just give me a day and I'll get it for you! Order both (it's our dinner for two). Don't have a date? You can order this too! For dessert, holy **, it's a caramelized duck, sustainably farmed off the front of a bus. Does that sound disgustingly yummy or what? You look hungry enough - put your gum in a cup and give in to the whim of your rumbling gut!

...Sounds yummy-enough but what-in-the-**, why not toss in a side of mango and a hummer-for-luck. It's a bummer-o-shucks. A glass of 2% organic milk and a hundred-in-bucks. What a wondrous-deluxe. Now pass me the butter so I can munch-on-this-stuff. The meat appears rare, I have a hunch-that-it's-tough. But no complaints here I'm just anxious to crunch-on-this-crust. Let's make a toast: To a swell lunch-now-just-hush. Hell, **, sh!t why'd you rush. Now your full and the dessert has yet-to-be-served. She looks like a guy but yes-it's-a-her. He looks like a girl but yes-it's-a-sir. That's sexist-for-sure. A conservative leftist-with-fur. Hunting with a net and a meat-cleaver, acid flashback weed-chiefer, used to be a leaf-seeker, used to need-refer, now I'm just an average Joe and my brothers seed-keeper, I don't push-refer, nor am I Bush-either, can I get my silly-Peace-Prize? Delivered first class with an order of chili-cheese-fries, o pretty-please-guys, BTW, I like your really-green-eyes, they remind me of grandma's old fashioned slow baked sweet-pies, speaking of grandma, she's-wise, she can cook the best mashed potatoes with only three-fries, that's nearly impossible, but I invite you to please-try, when your effort has been exhausted get back to me in a re-ply, you see-I, wore a green-tie w/ my favorite socks that are knee-high, tried to climb a beanstalk but didn't see Jack, de-ny, not even a (fo fum) fee-fie. You think I should re-try? Gee-why?

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

You do not do, you do not do

Any more, black shoe

In which I have lived like a foot

For thirty years, poor and white,

Barely daring to breathe or Achoo.

Daddy, I have had to kill you.

You died before I had time---

Marble-heavy, a bag full of God,

Ghastly statue with one gray toe

Big as a Frisco seal

And a head in the freakish Atlantic

Where it pours bean green over blue

In the waters off the beautiful Nauset.

I used to pray to recover you.

Ach, du.

In the German tongue, in the Polish town

Scraped flat by the roller

Of wars, wars, wars.

But the name of the town is common.

My Polack friend

Says there are a dozen or two.

So I never could tell where you

Put your foot, your root,

I never could talk to you.

The tongue stuck in my jaw.

It stuck in a barb wire snare.

Ich, ich, ich, ich,

I could hardly speak.

I thought every German was you.

And the language obscene

An engine, an engine,

Chuffing me off like a Jew.

A Jew to Dachau, Auschwitz, Belsen.

I began to talk like a Jew.

I think I may well be a Jew.

The snows of the Tyrol, the clear beer of Vienna

Are not very pure or true.

With my gypsy ancestress and my weird luck

And my Taroc pack and my Taroc pack

I may be a bit of a Jew.

I have always been sacred of you,

With your Luftwaffe, your gobbledygoo.

And your neat mustache

And your Aryan eye, bright blue.

Panzer-man, panzer-man, O You----

Not God but a swastika

So black no sky could squeak through.

Every woman adores a Fascist,

The boot in the face, the brute

Brute heart of a brute like you.

You stand at the blackboard, daddy,

In the picture I have of you,

A cleft in your chin instead of your foot

But no less a devil for that, no not

Any less the black man who

Bit my pretty red heart in two.

I was ten when they buried you.

At twenty I tried to die

And get back, back, back to you.

I thought even the bones would do.

But they pulled me out of the sack,

And they stuck me together with glue.

And then I knew what to do.

I made a model of you,

A man in black with a Meinkampf look

And a love of the rack and the screw.

And I said I do, I do.

So daddy, I'm finally through.

The black telephone's off at the root,

The voices just can't worm through.

If I've killed one man, I've killed two---

The vampire who said he was you

And drank my blood for a year,

Seven years, if you want to know.

Daddy, you can lie back now.

There's a stake in your fat black heart

And the villagers never liked you.

They are dancing and stamping on you.

They always knew it was you.

Daddy, daddy, you #######, I'm through.
