I think you got most of it. Some time the CO at the embassy ask for plane ticket and hotel stay. I think the plane ticket, hotel, and places that you two go is important too because the more activities spent between you two the more credible the relationship bonding appear. And one more thing... I don't see the appointment letter on your list. The interview letter stated clearly that you must bring the appointment with you. The appointment letter read, "Upon arrival at the Embassy/Consulate, the applicant should present this letter to the receptionist."

I hope this helps.

I thought they would already have a that stuff from when you sent the DS230, apart from the medical...

l

That is true, NVC got everything but sometime sh#t happens. Maybe some people at the NVC were too busy, too rush, lazy, bad mood, or just disorganized and when time to send the packet to the Embassy they left some paperwork out. What I’m trying to say is…keep all your records of everything you sent to the government and bring all records to the interview just in case something is missing.

Just remember when large amount of paperwork is physically moved from one place to another thing will be missing.

Good luck!

SSB,

If you stay home and not hotel, be sure to document every places that you go.

For example:

6/1/09 – At 1pm we went to the local zoo located at 45 zoo ave and return home at 6pm. (save receipt or some kind of proof that you were there)

6/2/09 – At 10am we went to the national park for sight seeing located at palm spring

valley. (save receipt or some kind of proof that you were there)

And so on…

As for forms, just bring everything that you have. Don’t you think it is better when you have all the records at your finger tip? It is better for many reasons… it show you’re organized, prepared, commitment and also you don’t have to run back home for the second trip. I think it is better to have it then not to have it.

Good luck to you!

Hey,

I had my CR1 interview today at the London embassy.. I took all of my paperwork and everything with me as well as a big stack of proof of relationship (phone records, yahoo transcripts, photos, plane tickets & hotel reservations and stuff from when Dee visited at christmas and in april), the only things they took from me were my interview letter and my passport. The consulate officer never asked to look at any of my proof of relationship stuff and didnt even ask any questions about our relationship (she asked about my wifes kids and how they felt about me, if I was going to be working and why I was denied admittance at phily airport in 2007) and then approved me and sent me on my way.

Of course differant embassy could be differant, but this was my experience from this morning, I hope this helps some what :)

Congrats! Wow, that sounded easy!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!
