good luck!

maybe you can call the consulate and ask what to in case they do turn her away at POE. Hopefully, you wont have to do that (F)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

if CBP decides turns her away, there is nothing the consulate can do, consulate is WAY over there while CBP is just right there...

Well, OP, you can be working to notify the airport of her possibly lost Visa Envelope Packet. Your wife hopefully told the airplane staff to be on lookout for it in the aircraft.

The reality is, she will be turned back without her 'DO NOT OPEN' envelope.

You realize that people are turned back by merely opening the 'DO NOT OPEN' envelope. It is considered compromised and invalid if opened by someone other than CBP DHS staff at POE.

I hope you can do a hat trick and get her into your arms this time, but keep it real. Good luck.

My god, that is definitely NOT news I was hoping for.

We are driving there right now, and nobody is picking up the phone at JFK. We do have a copy of petition and other documents. But like you said, people get turned around for lesser reasons than this!

Spoke with an immigration officer (not a very nice guy) he said "Let us do our job." That didn't give much hope.

What I still don't understand is, why would it be such a problem if she has a visa?

the VISA needs documents to support it, anybody can buy an airplane ticket to come here so anybody can make their own VISA as well, fraud is pretty sophisticated they just never know....

as mentioned before, the envelope contains her entire immigration file, up to the point of the visa being issued. since she is coming on a K-1, it could be needed and referenced to when she adjusts status. I saw my I-129f and other documents while the IO was going through our file during the AOS Interview.

If she gets turned away, I was thinking that the consulate can send out a replacment envelope once she gets home.

Good Luck OP and let us know what happens please.
