It is not a case...it is your fiancee's visa petition. You may have rights, but your fiancee has none....she is not a citizen. No, the consulate is neither breaking the law, nor infringing upon your rights. Have you tried calling? What exactly are you trying to find out...is it someting VJ can help you with, or situation specific?

So it's normal and I can't complain about this to anyone?

You can complain if you wish, but they are not breaking any laws or violating your constitutional rights.

It's about my fiance's visa. Here's story. The case is in AP. From DOS I found out that they need a document from my fiance. I e-mail the embassy, they tell me No, they don't need it. Two weeks later they tell my congresswoman that my fiance needs to submit that document. I e-mail them again and call them. No answer. Nobody contacted my fiance either.

Then send the document. Soon.

It's not that simple as it sounds and communication with them is imperative in order to produce that document. But they are ignoring me.

If I were you, I would call them every 5 seconds, send them emails, send them letters, and even show up at the consolate constantly until they acknowledged me. They'd get the hint.

I wish I was there. Unfortunately, I'm in NY and they charge $12 per phone call. Besides, the operator does not have direct access to information or consulate department. They make inquiries to the consulate department and tell you to call back in 24 hours. I called them yesterday and today they did not have answer for me.

What document are they wanting and how can they have anything to do with it, did they tell your congressperson what you needed to provide.

Yep, it is not illegal or anything, but get your congress person and senator involved, they can usually get answers.

This is what I do. I get answers through the congress person. I find it strange that the embassy would not want to reply me. They did it before.

Well since the "document" is secret just send it and quit wasting your time. Maybe they are not responding to you because they told you what you need already and you haven't provided it.
