Yo,

Now that my beloved Red Sox have backed into the postseason (thank you, Angels!), I thought I'd start a postseason baseball thread. Feel free to contribute.

I know that baseball threads often end up with some joker posting something like, "Baseball?! Zzzzzzzz!" Instead of such nonsense, why not post a fondue recipe? Or maybe a picture of the best Jello mold* you ever produced? (For Joyce, that is! For the record, she's a fan of the Albuquerque Isotopes.)

Game 1 ALDS October 7

Game 1 NLDS October 8

Go Sox! (Pls. stop losing, BTW!)

*Either type.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I see this thread is even more popular than last year's!

Any Twins or Tigers fans excited about tomorrow's game?

In other news, I actually made a successful cheese fondue two weeks ago.

One of these years the Angels are going to get by the Sox in the ALDS....one of these years or maybe the Anglels have a curse of their own....wasn't Anaheim stadium build on an old Indian burial ground  Go Angels!

The Twins/Tigers get underway in a couple of hours, not sure who to root for and it probably doesn't matter, the winner will have to play the Yankees

I thought the game was today, guess that is what I get for thinking

I was a fairly devoted Montreal Expos fan in the 80s (Warren Cromartie, Andre Dawson, Al Oliver, Gary Carter....).

Then when I moved to Toronto I followed the Jays, especially through the 1992/93 back to back World Series.

But the 1994 strike soured me on baseball. Both the players union and the owners treated the fans like we were just dirt.

I haven't really been able to get back into it ever since. I'll still go see games, it's fun to sit in the ballpark (especially a nice old park like Wrigley Field), but I refuse to get caught up in the emotion of rooting for a team. I reserve that now for football instead. Go Bears!

I'm worried about the Sox--pitching has been shaky, and clinching the wild card in the midst of being swept wasn't exactly the most glorious entrance to the postseason! We'll see. The Angels do tend to sh!it in their boots when they play the Sox, but of course, a trend can always turn around...

Re: football & the other Cardinals, the husband and I went to a Cardinals game the week before last. It was my first NFL game in a real NFL stadium (as opposed to seeing the Cardinals in Sun Devil Stadium). The game itself kinda sucked, but it was a great time.

I grew up a Pats fan (and still support them), but my dad never took us to see a game because he was worried about the "rowdy" fans. He was a little weird about that sort of thing. We did see lots of Sox games, tho.
