Thank you

and congrats to those who got their GCs :)

I think those multiple emails happen a lot. I got three EAD emails: two card production emails and then one EAD approval email. Just part of their processing.

Same thing happened to me.

When you get your EAD, you'll find it's valid from date is December 3rd, the date of the first card production ordered email.

I'm just about certain the 2nd card production ordered email is generated when the service center receives your card back from the card production facility.

In the next day you should get a "Approval notice sent" email. That will mean they have actually sent out your EAD card.

I'm pretty sure they're following the same process with my GC as well.

On Dec 2nd I got a card production ordered email that said they ordered production on Dec 2nd.

On Dec 3rd I got a second card production email, identical to the first, saying my card production was ordered on the 2nd. I think that mean that they got my GC back from the production facility the same day they ordered it, which makes sense if the CSC is also the card production facility and/or they prioritize GC production ahead of EAD production, so that GCs are made the same day, but EADs take a week to come back.

Today, Dec 7, I received an Approval Notice Mailed email, which tells me my GC is in the mail, hopefully.

I'm just not sure where the Welcome notice fits into this. It may be the approval notice mailed out today, and the GC may or may not be bundled with it, I don't know yet.

But I think I should be receiving my GC in the next 2-3 days, but who knows, it could show up today! :)

On the downside, tomorrow I have to go to the DMV to do a driving test to get my Utah drivers license. Seriously irritating. Their policy is all out-of-country drivers have to be retested, and I understand that, but really, Canada shouldn't count. Sigh.

Oh well, wish me luck for stuff in the mail today and my driver's test tomorrow!

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Congratulations!

Were your Welcome notice and card in the same envelope, or separate?

If separate, are they postmarked the same day?

They were sent in two different envelopes. The "Welcome Notice" was posted on Dec 2 and the GC at the same day they sent the approval e-mail, on Dec 3.

Congratulations Greg!

Looking at notes I took on my Timeline when my EAD showed up, I'm virtually certain that the 2nd Card Production Ordered email is generated when they receive the card back from card production and create the I-797D mailer for the card, as those two had the same dates for my EAD. Just FYI.

Also, my welcome notice showed up today! It's amazing how a souless mass-produced form letter can still give you a slight warm fuzzy feeling. It's the first time anyone in the US other than my wife's family has said "Welcome to the United States" to me :crying::dance:

The card didn't show up today. They're usually pretty close together, I think, so probably tomorrow.

Wish me luck on my driving test tomorrow!
