Hi simbafuzz, based on the Sept filers averages, we should start seeing some AOS approvals for those who were transferred to CSC.

Their averages are:

Transfer to AOS approval: 43 days (7 approvals)

NOA to AOS approval: 64 days (11 approvals which includes 4 approvals after interviews)

Greg

Well this means we should start seeing some AOS approvals very soon! How exciting! These first few weeks of December should be busy for all of us.

BTW, Greg that is such bummer about what happened at DMV. I didnt even know they could do that. Seems like same name and same b-day wouldnt be so unheard of that they dont have some sort of protocol for this (I found someone on facebook with my same name and birthday AND we went to the same University!) So what has to be done to release the license? That doesn't seem fair. Good luck with that and keep us posted. My husband is going to take the test in English tomorrow.

Hi all! Got my 2nd RFE today...still about joint sponsor. Last time they asked about tax info and ctizenship proof. I sent W2 for 2008 and copy of citizenship certificate. Unfortunately, what they wanted was the 1040 for tax info...DAMMMIT!!!

It'll be in the mail Monday, but I'm sad because I do think now that it stops EAD and AP as well: it's written on the notice....that means I might not be able to visit my family for the holidays...:(

Good luck with all your processes!

Hi Ruby,

I am sorry to hear that.. I got the second RFE too, but it's still on the way..May I ask whether the second RFE for you is on your AOS or EAD? Coz first RFE I got was on AOS which was asking 1040 tax form, but my second RFE is on EAD..

Hello GCrunner,

Both of my RFE's were for the joint sponsor's I-864 for my AOS but BOTH stated that my EAD would be on hold until the AOS situation is resolved. I didn't receive anything special for the EAD. Good luck!

Forgot to mention that we are going to go try to get my husbands Drivers license this week. In CA you can get a DL valid for the length of the EAD card. This is probably the most important part for my husband, lol.

He has been studying the handbook in English but I read on VJ somewhere that he can do an audio version of the test in Portugues! So I will be reporting back to all of you on how the DMV experience goes.

Any of the people who already have EAD get a DL?

Also, I am thinking that with the DL he will be able to go to school and not have to pay those astronomical non-resident fees. My husband wants to go to culinary school but the prices for non-residents was crazy. For a class that would normally be just $60 he had to pay something like $1,300 - insane. But since it was expensive because he was a non-resident and EAD establishes residency and he'll have the DL which also establishes residency I think it may work. So I will also report back to you regarding the cost going to school with EAD or DL.

TchauEUA, we had an experience with the DMV this past week.

My wife took the DL test here on Friday and passed. They looked at all our documents, like EAD, passport, visa, I-94, SSN and marriage certificate. Everthing was fine, but they could not issue the license because someone in Tennessee has her same name (her married name) and birthdate and has a hold on the license. Now we have to deal with Tennessee DL department to get a clearance. She was so happy that she passed, but disappointed that she walked away without the license.

Congratulations to your wifey! =) I'm pretty much sure she'll have her license soon.. The DMV will just have a background check for that thingy!

Hi guys. I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. We received our apppointment letter on Sat. The appt is scheduled for 1/4/10.

Good luck to you Savaleta =)

I hope this week brings much progress for all!! Let's get some more approvals, and possibly some interview appointments??

Do we have any October filers still waiting to get their biometric letters??

Agree! I hope this week will be great for all of us.. I guess CAAO is still waiting for his/her bio appointment letter..

ruby- Sorry to hear about your second RFE :( Hopefully it won't slow down things too much.

Another touch on 485 after being transferred....makes me wonder the inner workings of the black hole we call CSC.... Is it sitting in crate somewhere? put in storage by accident? or on someone's to do list?

Anyways, hoping to see my EAD approval soon.....no touches since day after biometrics :(

Hey guys

We are october filers as well. I have a question, wife recieved her notice for her interview, and notice of card production for EAD card. What happens when she gets her EAD?

She never got an ssn card, should she go do that or does she not need it?

BTW, Greg that is such bummer about what happened at DMV. I didnt even know they could do that. Seems like same name and same b-day wouldnt be so unheard of that they dont have some sort of protocol for this (I found someone on facebook with my same name and birthday AND we went to the same University!) So what has to be done to release the license? That doesn't seem fair. Good luck with that and keep us posted. My husband is going to take the test in English tomorrow.

Hi TchauEUA, I guess when you get a DL they check a nationwide database to see if there is a hold on a DL in another state for that person. We got it cleared up today. Just an error made by our local DMV. So, my wife received her DL today. Actually a permit. She'll take the road test in two weeks. Good luck to your husband on his test today.

@ savaleta, congrats on the interview appointment!

@ Infantry Grunt, you wife can apply for her SSN card once she receives her EAD. She will need the SSN to obtain a job, get a bank account, or file a tax return. Congrats on the interview appointment. Hopefully you'll have the GC soon too!

Greg

Thats great news, Infantry Grunt. Once she gets her EAD card via mail then she can apply for the SSN and also if needed have her driver's license changed.
