Hello,

I was wondering if working from home is considered illegal while waiting for EAD??

I used to do some paper work online for some time already and now preparing the AOS package ...so I would like to make sure that I will not brake the law if I continue my work from home projects.

If it involves working for a US company that requires proof of employment, yes, it is illegal. However, I'm not sure what you mean by home projects...

AOS

2009-01-12===> Sent AOS packet via UPS
2009-01-13===> AOS packet received
2009-01-28===> NOA's received in the mail
2009-02-01===> Biometric appt received in the mail
2009-02-06===> Completed biometric appt thru walk-in
2009-02-06===> Applied for expedited AP thru the phone
2009-02-14===> Received AP in the mail
2009-02-11===> Case transferred to CSC
2009-02-23===> EAD received
2009-05-02===> Green card received in the mail, no interview done.

It is all about taxes really, if we are talking about less than a few thousand dollars no one is prob going to care, EAD is really about making sure only people that should be in america have the ablity to stay in america and pay their taxes (no job=no money and no money=out on the street). So if your doing it to really make a life I wouldn't do it, but if it is more for fun or just some side money it prob won't get you in trouble. But who can say, they are showing up at people's home a lot lately and the law is dim at best for aliens. Good luck though

Applied 5/2007 Approved GC in Hand 10/2007
I-751 mailed 6/30/09 aapproved 11/7/09 The BOYS I-751 Mailed 12/29/09 3/23/10 Email approval for 17 CR 3/27/10
4/14/10 Email approval for 13 yr Old CR 4/23/10

Oldest son now 21 I-130 filed by LPR dad ( as per NVC CSPA is applying here )
I-130 approved 2/24
Priority date 12/6/2007
4/6/2010 letter from NVC arrives to son dated 3/4/2010
5/4/10 received AOS and DS3032 via email
9/22/10 Interview BOG Passed
10/3/10 POE JFK all went well
11/11/10 GC Received smile.png
