It doesn't matter. As the bodies pile up, people will think twice about crossing. That's what the Russians did at the East/West German border. They let the bodies hand in the barbed wire until they were nothing but bones.

I doubt that.

True. The politicians of the Soviet Union used the East Germans to do that.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Did some homework but couldn't find a single case where a body was left to rot for weeks or months on the East/West German border. Your turn.

"Although the Grenzgesetz required that the lives of persons be respected, the orders given to border guards included the instruction to "detect, arrest or destroy violators of the border" and stated that "violations of the border must not be allowed under any circumstances. Violators of the border must be arrested or destroyed." In the event, no border guards were punished following incidents in which escapees were shot; on the contrary, the guards were commended and rewarded for their actions.[10] The responsibility for border controls ultimately lay with the National Defence Council, headed by the General Secretary of the ruling SED party.[15]"

I think they should give one warning and then shoot anyone on our side of the fence or border and toss then back. As the bodies pile up, it will become more of a deterent.

You're advocating murder. Even Mexicans have the right to due process.

George Beckworth: There is such a thing as due process.

Colonel Mike Kirby: Out here, due process is a bullet.

I can't remember where I saw this originally. It was on tv years ago, may have been on the World at War series or some other documentatry. It has stuck in my mind ever since. I wish I could provide a link.

The East-West German border didn't exist until after WWII but I've seen photos of corpses on KZ camp fences.

I know the border wasn't built until after the war, I just wish I could remember where I saw this. It was a long time ago, at least 20+ years ago. It has stayed with me all this time. Perhaps I got it mixed up with another area. I remember the narrator saying that the bodies were left where they were shot to act as a deterrent to those who would attempt to escape. I found it quite revolting. I have the World at War dvd box set. It is probably the best and most complete source of origianl footage for that time period. I highly recommend it.

How would they know them from the drug war killings? Oh, yeah, TAG THEM first.

Probably because the US for all its many faults hasn't sunk so low that we practice barbarism on our own soil while the rest of the world looks on aghast.

Then again, nothing says "welcome to my country" more than a pile of mouldering corpses lining the borders.

It doesn't matter what your nationality is, if you run up to most borders in the world and don't stop when asked to do so, you are more than likely going to get shot. This isn't some "new" US policy. No country would allow people to run up to their border and enter illegally without deterring them in some way (most likely with deadly force). For all the gaurds know, these people have bombs. Why this is an issue is beyond me.

This just proves my point once more, hey Rob Mel, wish you would read this, just another case of how Mexico has turned into a lawless narco terrorist state, facts do not lie here, once again just open your eyes and see, it is not a safe place in Mexico at all.

(CNN) — The San Ysidro Port of Entry on the U.S.-Mexico border in California was temporarily closed Tuesday after four people were wounded by gunfire that erupted from three vans packed with than 70 people headed from Mexico toward the border, officials said.

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and a Customs and Border Protection officer also fired their guns, said Angela Decima, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Border Patrol.

Three of the casualties were critically wounded, said San Diego, California, Fire Department Spokesman Maurice Luque. The fourth person wounded was in a separate vehicle, said Decima.

The condition of the fourth person was being assessed, and a fifth person — who may have fallen while running — was injured in an incident unrelated to the shootings, Luque said.

Four of the five people who were hurt were part of the entourage of cars involved in the shooting, he said. All of the occupants of the three vehicles were taken into custody, said Luque.

The border incident occurred at 3:25 p.m. (6:25 p.m. ET), police said.

The crossing point, officially declared a crime scene, will remain closed for several hours while the San Diego Police Department investigates.

And nothing more like a pile of law breaking criminal bodies lining the border says "Do not tread on me"! I am all for it Gene aka Pvt Pike, it would be a good message for those thinking of breaking the immigration law that this is not a place to screw around, like it is on the English Channel with France where there is no border control and liberal stupidity.

Compared to the US's immigration laws, anyone outside the EU has to go through quite a few hoops to get to the UK, let alone function in it.

People can literally walk in and setup shop here.
