Hi, I am joing this group now!

Are there any H1B to Greencard AOS filers out there?? :)

I heard that they are taking 40 days or so to process. Keeping my fingers crossed that it doesnt take 90 days for us. My work hasnt mentioned it to me yet. I am going to see if I can request that they expedite it since I cant afford to take a month leave of absence.

Hi Canada2US!

I am on the same boat as you are. I am currently on H-1B which expires late November, I just sent my application in this morning. I know it takes about 60 - 90 days to get an EAD from the time you receive NOA. I know I can't be much help yet, but I hope we can emotionally support each other on VJ!! I talked to my company's attorney and she said that I have to take leave of absense if I don't receive EAD by the visa expiration date. At this point, I will probably have to take a month or so off from work.

Anyway, hope your EAD will come soon, looks like everything is going smooth so far :star:

I meant to reply to your post! Good luck!! Lets hope it takes 40 days or less to process!!

I wonder if it goes faster if you are changing your status from a K1 visa holder rather than other visa holders. I noticed a lot of the K1 holders get transfered to the CSC office which means they skip the interview as well. I feel like their timelines move faster. Not sure if we can get transfered to the CSC office (H1B or other visa holders).

i have never seen a person filing for the "other" visas get transferred, but the ONLY thing that speeds up is the greencard if anything.. to be honest hubby and i are more interested in that EAD lol..

he has kids back home that really need the financial support of their dad, and it wouldn't hurt me to have a lil help also LOL..

i wonder how they pick which k1 gets transferred seeing that u didn't have to send any evidence in w/ ur 485?? hmmmm

if they could see my pics from our i130 they could see how happy my whole family is w/ hubby here.. maybe we would have gotten transferred maaaayyyybbbeee..

another step Alice.. GOOD FOR U!

OK I need a favour off everyone in this thread, I need you all to access the spreadsheet (in my signature) and check over the entries I've put in for you, look for any possible errors I've made and any missing pieces of data for your case such as:

1) Type of visa adjusting from

2) Whether you sent off a I-693

3) NOA date

4) Biometrics date

5) Whether you will attend Biometrics on the date given or will you try an early walk in

6) If you have been transferred to the CSC yet

7) Whether you filed for EAD or AP or both on top of your AOS application

Thanks

Hi JimandChristy,

Thanks for making an excell spreadsheet, very helpfull!

To add to my info: I did send in the medical examination form (I693) with my application

Also received my bio appointment today for october 28th! Going to try a walk-in on wednesday, hopefully that'll help speed things up.

Hi Canada2US: I'm also switching from an H1B, but mine is valid until july next year. Some filers are lucky and receive their EAD very quickly, I'll keep my fingers crossed. You could ask for an extension of your H1B (because the visa is pretty unique in that you are allowed to have dual intent) but I don't know what the processing time for that would be (maybe your employer automatically filed one!)

Everybody good luck!! Hopefully we can beat the K1 timelines!!!
