Keeping EAD at Interview

Well we filed AOS in June and got an appointment for interview for September 14. We thought great. We applied for EAD and advance parole at the same time. Well we received the EAD 17 days ago and right away applied for SSN which we received 10 days ago. Well the wife has been submitting applications for work and got an interview for September 15th and 17th.

Well we go to the interview on the 14th and get approved and they keep the EAD. We said why? And they guy answered you don't need that you will get the green card soon.

Well the wife goes to the first interview this morning and they are ready to hire her but they want to see EAD od green card and we now have neither at this point :angry:

They told her to come back when she has the green card. Oh yeah but will the position still be available? :unsure:

Anyone else have this problem?

People do sometimes have this problem.

Technically, when your wife was approved for her GC, her EAD became invalid, so she could not have used it anyway.

Sometimes, the process is just a pain.

have you checked your case status online? does it say "card production ordered"?

If so, you should get it within a couple of weeks.

We barely got home from the interview and had an email that said card production ordered.

And she has another job interview tomorrow :(

Sometimes, the process is just a pain.

And unfair! To be offered a job and can not take it because no EAD or GC at this monent.

Oh well what can you do? :)

Yes they took her EAD :(
