Hey guys, I was just thinking:

HPV vaccine consists of 3 shots that you get over a 6-month period( following shots are in 2 and 4 months after the first shot), and you can't get them earlier than that. I sent my AOS appliction a few days after the medical exam( that's when I got the first shot). People have been getting inetrviews pretty early lately, and I'm kinda expecting to get mine within the next 2 months. If I do, I will only have 2 HPV shots completed by the interview day, and the 3rd one would be done around end Jan-beg Feb. So, is the IO gonna postpone my green card approval(if everything else seems approvable at the interview) till I get the 3rd shot of HPV, or is he just gonna approve me with one shot missing? How does it work??

Your answers are greatly appriciated!

First thing is you may get the GC wothout an interview. Second if you have the I-693 from a designated civil surgeon I doubt if the IO will even look at it.

Worst scenerio would be you'd have to wait for the final shot to get the GC which is HIGHLY unlikely.

Nothing much you can do. Main thing don't offer any info unless asked.

Don't worry about that. At my interview, the IO asked me if i had got any more shots from the ones on the I-693 that i had submitted. I showed her my HPV card

that shows that i have had 2 shots but one is remaining. She didn't ask anything else and usually, they don't even ask about it at all.

You will be fine.

Actually, the remaining HPV shot would be 'medically inappropriate' at the time of the interview for the green card, so they would go on the fact that you were as compliant to the requirements as you could/needed to be when you were interviewed/applied for AOS. It is very unlikely they would hold up your green card until you had completed the sequence. Working on 'their' tiimeline - when they get around to approving your application - you are up to date.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I also need to get this HPV vaccine for the first time..but as I was researching about this, I've seen a lot of problems and side effects that a woman could have if she will take this shot. Is this really a requirement? Can I just talk to my civil surgeon so that she'll just put in the I-693 that's inappropriate for me to take that shot?

Also, it costs around $150-$200 just to have the first shots and we need to take 3 shots..whoaaa!

Yeah, it's USCIS requirements, unless a civil sergeons determines you can't have th shot for medical reasons.

This is from USCIS website:

Vaccination Requirements

All applicants for adjustment of status must present

documents showing they have been vaccinated against a broad

range of vaccine-preventable diseases. The civil surgeon will

review your vaccination history with you to determine

whether you have all the required vaccinations. Make sure you

take your vaccination records with you to your appointment

with the civil surgeon.

By law, the required vaccines include: mumps, measles,

rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis,

influenza, hepatitis B, haemophilus influenzae type B,

varicella, pneumococcal, rotavirus, hepatitis A,

meningococcal, human papillomavirus, zoster, and any other

vaccinations recommended by the Advisory Committee for

Immunization Practices (ACIP).

NOTE: Please do not attempt to meet the requirements before

you are evaluated by the civil surgeon, in case it is not

medically appropriate for you to have one or more of the

required vaccines.

If you initially did not have documents proving you received

all the required vaccines but later submit those documents, or

if the civil surgeon certifies that it is not medically appropriate

for you to have one or more of the missing vaccine(s), USCIS

may grant you a waiver based on the civil surgeon's

certification on the vaccination supplement.

HHS has determined that a vaccine is "not medically

appropriate" if : (a) the vaccine is not recommended for your

specific age group; (B) there is a medical reason why it would

not be safe to have the vaccine (for example, allergies to eggs

and yeast, pregnancy, hypersensitivity to prior vaccines, or

other medical reasons); or © you are unable to complete the

entire series of a required vaccine within a reasonable amount

of time.

My friend got her doctor put the 1st shot on I-693 without getting it somehow.

I also read a lot about the vaccine and side effects are common for girls at younger ages. I asked the woman who was giving me a shot and she seemed calm about it, said never heard anything bad before. I didnt have any side effects so far and planning to get a 2nd shot. Another friend of mine got her GC with only 1st shot.

And its free at certain immunization clinics.
