It is very difficult for law enforcement in Vermont to be "racist" Vermont has 2.5% minority population, almost all of which live in Burlignton/Chittenden County. I cannot remember the breakdown of the "minorities", there was a recent report on it in the newspaper. It has the lowest percentage of spanish speaking people in the country (Russian is a more common language than Spanish but ranks far behind English and French as 1 and 2)

Obviously, then, ownership of firearms does not impart knowledge. I never thought it did. He would know better than to ask someone who makes their own, how much ammunition they have. Who could possibly say? How many bullets in a 5 gallon pail of wheelweights? I could count the pails if he likes. I could also count pails of empty casings, each being good for 10-15 reloads with proper care and if you aren't trying to bust a gut with the powder charge. I never try to make an '06 into a .300 magnum. That's what they make .300 magnums for. Or better, a .338. I mean c'mon, if an '06 won't fix the problem, you are gonna need a lot more bullet anyway! Making the same bullet get there faster isn't gonna solve anything.

I do not discuss such things. One of the reasons I oppose registration of firearms is that it is to our advantage to keep such things secret from the government. It is important for our freedom that such things are not known to the government. It is the same reason that concealed weapons reduce crime and protect everyone, no one knows WHO has a gun. It is better that way.

There is only one way to find out how much ammunition and guns I have...or whether I am carrying one or more concealed. Or how well I can shoot.

OK, you win. I have a tentative, probably conservative, estimate of 12 tons. I know it take more than one U-haul truck load to move it, I have done it several times...sucks. I am NOT doing it again

OMG you needed wikipedia for that? No, say it isn't so? Everyone knows a .25-06 is made by necking down a .30-06. Why else would you name a cartridge first made in the 50s "'06" It is kinda obvious! The .35 Whelen is made by necking it up. We ARE speaking among adults here, right?

Incidentally in 1989 some wacko kid on a neighboring ranch thought I looked like a deer and shot me in the right leg with a .25-06. Wasn't enough gun. Took me out for a while, to be sure, and really ruined that day but I didn't stay shot. That is why I use nothing less than a .30 bore anymore for serious social work. I figure the kid must have had a doe permit, I hadn't been in the brush long enough to get horny.

What a crazy thread, my gun is bigger than yours, I have enough peanut butter sandwiches to last me a month. Without even a single word about who is revolting against who! Am I going to start shooting at my good neighbor because he is an army captain? Am I going to join a group of ten guys that parade into Washington DC and start shooting at women and kids? If the whole nation is in involved with a revolution, why even shoot anybody, just boycott those leaders or put them on a slow boat to China. What would the government do if we all refused to pay our taxes? Without our money, they would be helpless, some of them would even have to find an honest job.

Let's look at what the problems are first before shooting first and asking questions later.
