(F) I'm sorry for your struggles Jackie. But you have a great positive outlook. That will get you through this. Every time disaster strikes my life it always ends up for the better in the end. So hang in there.

You are driving through Utah? That is my digs (to my husband's dismay :P ) Where are you moving too?

Sister Jackie - God be with you on your travels. Be safe and put it all in His hands. You can make it. Change is scary, but it is positive...I will be praying huge prayers that your new life works out.

I will give you a couple of tips about the road - I don't know about KOA showers, but I do know that truck stops have showering facilities and especially with all the female truckers out there you should be fine. If you're going to stop at a rest stop, let the patrol officer there know you're taking a rest in your car and to keep an eye out for you - when you leave, let them know you are going. Take a knife with you...I always had one with me and I was 19 when I drove back and forth from Philly to Los Angeles a few times. I really couldn't do much with it, but hey it's a small ounce of prevention. Take a moment to enjoy God's great earth...that drive will take you through some amazing places - stop to smell the roses, if even for a few minutes.

God bless you, lots of love (L), Stacie

A knife :o nah..i would have to be VERY close to the source of danger to use a knife.

If i was going armed, it would be Chicago-style and pack a .22 :P Well ya know there might be bears between South Dakota and Washington....note to self..add big silver knife to the list of things to pack.

Thx for the truck stop idea! I didnt think of that.

I'm talking about pocket knife - not too big. :D

Uh...me & a bear...I am POSITIVE a pocket knife is not a good weapon choice. I am armed with a full mp3 player, a kickazz GPS and an adapter I can plug my power cords into. No worries about a dead cell phone or laptop.

Now...to find wifi spots.

Jackie,

Of COURSE hijack the thread(even though its not "mine" ;)) your original thread helped me through many hard times while waiting..this is just part two of your thread my dear.

Im really sorry to hear that you have to move away from your family. I know that is a very very hard thing to do. Im glad to see that you do have a good outlook and it will get you through this as someone else has said. I have found that as long as you put one foot in front of the other in a positive direction things turn out just fine in the end. It sounds like you do know that though. :)

Be careful on the road and DO post pics.

I wish you nothing but the best in this world, You have been a sweet caring energy for many ladies(and gents) waiting here in MENA :luv:

Jackie, this move sounds like it may just be a fun adventure :P It's def a new chapter and I hope its the best one yet!

(((((Jackie)))))))

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I had a to-do list a mile long today and all I have accomplished is laundry and buying snacks for the trip. I have mixed nuts and hot fries :P

The adventure soon begins. I'm spending tommorrow with Alexis.

...one foot in front of the other. Good advice gf.

(((Jackie))) I know this must be difficult, but alhamdullilah you are blessed with people who love, care and want to be there to help you when you are down.

There is a saying in the quran that goes as follows...."Fa inna ma'al usri yusra, inna ma'al usri yusra" Which means, "Verily with every hardship there is ease, with every hardship there is ease." Allah, subhana wa ta'ala, said this twice to reassure us that bads times will not be forever and will be replaced with goodness. I will be saying some duaa for ya, sister.

I would certainly love to meet ya if you come to Minnesota. Perhaps Jen and I could meet ya somewhere for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or supper....whatever time of day you arrive :-)

Keep us posted and I for sure want to see the road trip pics!
