Hi! We were so excited to receive my fiance's visa in the mail today, but he just called to notify me of a possible problem. On the visa his name, birthdate, etc are all correct, but instead of Masculine they listed Feminine under Sex. Clearly we are not working with the smartest of people here as the info on his passport is correct. We plan to contact the consulate to seek advice, but I wanted to see if anyone else had encountered this same problem. My gut feeling is that it won't even be noticed at POE, but we still don't want to take any chances after going through so much to get to this point. The visa has his photo on it which matches his passport photo, so he clearly is who he says he is, but still....Any advice out there from VJ members?

It's a simple mistake. Contact the embassy where the visa was issued.

Better to wait on line at the consulate another day than to get screwed up at the border.

Congratulations!

I sent an email to the consulate. They usually reply pretty quickly, so I should know something by Monday. Hopefully he won't need to go back to the consulate as he lives several hours away by plane and already had trouble getting time off work the first time. Thanks for the advice! Wish us luck!
